Situated on the marina near the charming “Blomsterbrua” (Flower Bridge), is the fun-loving neighborhood of Solsiden, also known as Nedre Elvehavn. Solsiden, which translates to “the sunny side” in Norwegian, is a bustling and cheerful area full of life! This area embodies a post-industrial spirit while still adapting to the times and embracing contemporary architectural accents. What you see today was erected from the ashes of an old shipyard (once one of Norway’s biggest ship building companies), and is now one of the most popular areas in the city. Solsiden is a local staple and is always buzzing with good vibes. It’s THE place to go if you want to take in the jovial energy of locals and enjoy the afternoon sun with a tasty delight on an outdoor terrace.
