Friendly reminder to get your passports as soon as possible (ideally at least 3 months before the trip). Note that you need a passport to book the Machu Picchu trip, the deadline for which is February 10, 2025. Also, PERU REQUIRES THAT YOUR PASSPORT HAVE AT LEAST 6 MONTHS OF VALIDITY AT THE TIME OF ENTRY. In other words, if your passport will expire in less than six months from the time you are supposed to enter Peru, you won't be allowed to enter the country.

You will need to fly from the United States to Lima, Peru, and from Lima to Cusco. We recommend LATAM Airlines to go from Lima to Cusco. We also recommend giving yourself at least three hours between the time you land in Lima and the time your flight to Cusco is set to leave. Bags can sometimes take a while to come out, and you will have to pick up your bags, leave security, and check back in once you get to Lima.

Monica and Trent will be staying at Palacio del Inka in downtown Cusco during our pre-wedding festivities (October 13th-15th). Feel free to stay at the same hotel as us or book another one (see below). Note that we will arrange transportation to Yucay (the city where the wedding will be, which is 1 hour from Cusco) on October 16th. In Yucay, everyone will stay at the Sonesta Posadas del Inca Yucay, where we will have the wedding.

There are tons of hotels in the heart of Cusco. We've attached a couple of other choices at all different price points below. We recommend staying somewhere close to our hotel or the Plaza de Armas. The easiest way to find a hotel is by using Expedia or another travel website (or Airbnb if you want to take that route). There are amazing hotels and Airbnbs for as low as $20 per person per night depending on group size. MAKE SURE TO USE FILTERS IF YOU WANT BREAKFAST INCLUDED OR AIR CONDITIONING. Note that not having AC shouldn't be a deal breaker. The highs during October are around 70 degrees, and the lows are around 40.

We will be arranging transportation from Cusco to Yucay on October 16th. Our wedding will be held in the Sacred Valley.
