HOW WE MET

Sometimes fate just keeps knocking until you answer. Over the course of three years, Ray and I kept crossing paths, running into each other while working at CVS before we officially introduced ourselves. The third time was finally the charm, and once we actually started talking, we realized we were meant to be inseparable.

OUR FIRST DATE

For our first date, we made late-night IHOP plans in Vernon Hills. We purposefully picked a spot a little farther away, mostly because neither of us wanted the night to end. As it turned out, we didn't want to leave each other's side after that, either.

KNOWING THEY WERE "THE ONE"

THE PROPOSAL

Our favorite story took place right where we built our foundation: inside our very first apartment on Christmas Eve. Surrounded by the warmth of the holiday and the comfort of home, Ray turned our cozy living space into the setting for the ultimate holiday gift. It was a complete surprise, deeply intimate, and perfectly us.

THE NEXT CHAPTER

Since saying "yes," we've hit some our biggest milestones yet, including buying our very first home together and putting down roots in a new city. Now, as we prepare to step into marriage, we are so excited to celebrate our love and start this next chapter with all of you!

Getting to Twin Lakes

We're so glad you're making the trip to celebrate with us. St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church is located in Twin Lakes, WI; a small village in Southeast Wisconsin best known for Country Thunder Wisconsin. Getting here is straightforward, but where you stay takes a little more thought, so we've done the homework for you.

Flying In?

You've got two solid airport options. Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE) is approximately 45 minutes north of the venue and is generally the easier, less hectic choice. Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) is roughly an hour to the south and is the better option if you're finding cheaper or more direct flights — from O'Hare, it's a straight shot up I-94. Whichever airport you choose, a rental car is strongly recommended. Twin Lakes is a small town and rideshares in the area can be unpredictable in availability and pricing.

Driving In?

Interstate 41/94 is your main artery regardless of which direction you're coming from. Kenosha, WI sits right along I-41/94 and is roughly 30 minutes from the church - a great option if you want easy highway access with more to do in the evenings. Our closest recommended hotel is in Pleasant Prairie, WI, just about 30 minutes from the church. This would be ideal if minimizing drive time on the wedding day is the priority. If you're coming from the Chicago area, there are also hotel options closer to O'Hare that let you drive straight up I-94 without any backtracking.

We have reserved a block of rooms for our guests at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Pleasant Prairie, located conveniently right off I-94. Room Block Information: Please mention the “Pelayo and Singleton Wedding Block” when calling to reserve your room, or use our direct booking link to receive the special group rate. Your stay includes complimentary hot breakfast every morning, free Wi-Fi, and free parking. Guests can also enjoy the heated indoor swimming pool, 24-hour fitness center, and in-room mini-fridges and microwaves. This hotel is 12 miles from Six Flags Great America Theme Park and Hurricane Harbor. Shopping at the Pleasant Prairie Outlets is a convenient two minute drive down 120th avenue!
