It all started with a video game.

Jason and Morgaine first met while playing Destiny, a game that, fittingly, is all about fighting alongside your teammates to protect the world. What began as a chance encounter in an online fireteam quickly grew into regular sessions, shared laughs, and a deep, easy friendship that spanned thousands of miles—Jason in Alabama and Morgaine in California.

As Morgaine prepared to graduate from Cal Poly SLO with a Bachelors of Animal Science, she was ready for a new chapter and a fresh start. She came across a job opening for an animal control officer in Mobile, Alabama—coincidentally (or maybe fatefully) the same city where Jason was attending college at the University of South Alabama. With a mix of excitement and bravery, Morgaine applied, packed up her life and 2 dogs, and moved across the country.

Just a week after her big move, Jason and Morgaine went on their first official date: fishing. It was simple, sweet, and just right. Another week later, Jason asked Morgaine to be his girlfriend. From that point on, their story became one of shared adventures, quiet moments, and building a life side by side—one game, one day, and one decision at a time.
