Is there a dress code?
Our groomsmen will be in tuxedos, and the bridal party will be in long dresses, and we’d love for you to join in the fun! Black tie optional means you can wear anything from a suit to a tux, a cocktail dress to a full-length gown—whatever makes you feel your best for a night of celebration!
What time should I arrive?
We can’t wait to celebrate with you! The ceremony begins at 5:30 PM, so we kindly ask guests to arrive 30 minutes early. This will give you plenty of time to find parking on King Street (if driving) and grab a seat before the festivities begin!
Are children welcome?
While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. We appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to celebrate with you!.
Will transportation be available?
We won’t be providing transportation since everything is centrally located. Our venue, The William Aiken House, is right on King Street and only a 5–6 minute walk from our hotel blocks. If you’d rather not walk, Uber, Lyft, or the nearby parking garage are great alternatives!
Will your wedding be outdoors?
Yes! The William Aiken House offers both indoor and outdoor spaces, and we’ll be making the most of them. The ceremony will be outdoors, followed by cocktail hour flowing throughout the house and garden. Then, we’ll move back outside for dinner and dancing under the Charleston sky!
Can I take photos during the ceremony?
We’d love for you to be fully present as we say ‘I do,’ so we’re keeping our ceremony unplugged—no phones or cameras, please! Our photographer will take care of capturing the special moments for us. After the ceremony, we’d love for you to take all the photos you want and help us document the celebration!
