The story begins with Danny moving to good ol' Fort Worth, Texas for a new job and Morgan moving back after 6.5 years in Europe. Like many modern love stories, ours started with being open to dating and a dating app.
One swipe led to a message, and that message led to a meeting at a speakeasy in Fort Worth.—
the kind of place with low lighting, great cocktails,
and conversation that made the hours disappear. Both of us engaged in knowing the other and impressed with each of our drink orders.— An old fashion for Danny and a gin and tonic for Morgan, probably requesting a cucumber garnish.
From the start, there was this feeling:
“There is just not enough time. I could talk to this person forever.”
Our second date was rock climbing.
It wasn’t just fun—it was a crash course in trust.
Morg got certified to belay that day,
learning to literally hold the rope and support from below.
Looking back, that moment sums up so much of what we’ve built:
a relationship rooted in support, trust, and showing up for each other.
As we got to know one another,
we kept finding these unexpected parallels—
Danny grew up five minutes from where Morgan and her brother were born in Missouri,
Danny lived in Morg's favorite small mountain town in Colorado, Buena Vista, for 5 years.
and even studied abroad in Salzburg, a place Morgan has also always loved.
It was like our lives had been circling each other for years,
just waiting for the right moment to connect.
Since then, we’ve become best friends.
We’re a mix of so many things—
we love being outside, fishing, hiking, exploring new places,
but also cooking dinner at home, making music together, dancing
or doing absolutely nothing and still having the best time.
More than anything, we’ve become each other’s person—
someone to lean on, laugh with, dream big alongside,
and walk through life together,
hand in hand, grounded in love and silliness, and always up for the next adventure, whether it's planning a big international trip or going to the grocery store.
