Things to Do

There is so much much to explore in this part of Italy, it really is beautiful! Depending on how many days you have in Tuscany, we have wrote a small guide of places that we visited last year with some pictures. Hope this helps!

Visit the town of Radicondoli

Radicondoli is the small town which is closest to the venue. It is very charming, quiet but definitely worth a visit. It's not very busy, consists of a small shop and about 4 restaurants/bars. Nice to walk around, grab a coffee and take in some of the tuscan views!

Visit San Gimingnano

San Gimingnano is a must see medival town and one of the most popular spots in Tuscany to visit. it is relatively touristy but still very nice to see. It has endless shopping, lots of history, resturants, wine and whats known as the best ice cream in the world. (It's VERY good) If you happened to watch Jack Whitehall's TV programme on amazon prime called 'Live Italian' he visits Tuscany and specifically San gimingnano and the ice cream shop!

A highlight is climbing to the top of tower in the town centre, where you can look over the edge at the stunning 360 views of Tuscany.

You will spend all day here exploring, there is a few car parks in the town or speak to us and we can tell you where to park for free!

Visit Florence

Picture of Visit Florence

We only spent a few hours in Florence but it was one of our favourite places, even though it is busy.

There is so much to see, we hardly scratched the surface. It has so much art history and it's worth visiting some museums to experience famous artist's work like Leonardo da vinci and Michelangelo. Try to pick a cool day to do this as walking around in the heat can be a challenge!

Getting into Florence is so easy using a park and ride system called 'Villa Costanza' where you park your car outside of florence and get a metro train into the centre. To park is about 10 Euros and tickets for the metro is about 1.50 euro each way.

Visit Pisa

Pisa is also a beautiful place to visit if you want to look at some famous landmarks such as the 'Leaning Tower of Pisa'. There is a day ticket you can buy for all the attractions around that area, we didn't bother going up to the tower as the wait can be long, but we did buy a ticket for the cathedrals and art museums. There is a ticket office where you can buy a pass just behind the leaning tower.

If your flying the same day on an evening flight, you can leave your bags at Pisa airport in a luggage hold for 10 euro per bag. Luggage hold closes at 8pm so do check times if you are leaving bags.

You can then travel from the airport to the the centre of Pisa via the

'Pisa Mover' for about 20 euro. This train will take you straight to the centre where you follow signs for the 'centre' which is a round circle. You can buy tickets for the Pisa mover next to where you drop off the luggage. (Go into arrivals and its on the far left).

Diborrato waterfall

This place was one of our favourite finds for swimming, its situated on the Elsa river. It has crystal blue water and an amazing waterfall you can swim under. Think Symonds yat but more beautiful and nicer water! As the locals use it too, it can get busy but there are so many places to set up a towel and chill out even if you don't want to swim. Best time to get there is early around 10am, there is a car park and a cafe but otherwise there isn't much else around so bring food and water! It's not too far from Radicondoli so a few of us might head down as a group, we will let everyone know what day we decide to go.

Wine Tasting

Lastly, if you like wine, you must try wine tasting at one of the local vineyards around Tuscany, it's a real experience! The tastings are usually paired with bread, olive oils and vinegar which is just heavenly! Again, a few of us may do this as a group, let me know if you would be interested and I can look into booking a nearby vineyard tour.
