Cocktail. Feel free to dress up a little or keep it light and comfortable for the summer, but no jeans or flip flops, please. Crocs will be confiscated upon sight.
What's this I hear about altitude? Should I be concerned?
Estes Park is 7,500 feet above sea level, so if you're coming from a lower elevation, you may notice the altitude. Common side effects are a headache and feeling short of breath. Don't worry about it - the best treatment is to drink a lot of water. We want everyone to have the best time at the wedding, but definitely be aware that alcohol will have a stronger effect at higher elevation. We will supply supplemental oxygen canisters at the reception for anyone who's feeling the elevation. For folks who are making a longer trip out of the wedding, we also recommend spending a day or two in Denver ahead of time to get acclimatized ahead of the event - Denver is 5,280 feet above sea level.
How hard is it to get to Estes Park? What's the drive like?
You can take a shuttle directly from Denver International Airport (DIA) to Estes Park. If you decide to drive up there, it's about an hour and a half's drive away from Denver. The best route is U.S. 36 through Lyons, Colorado. Although you'll be driving on the front range of the beautiful Rocky Mountains, it's not a scary drive, with no steep drop-offs or mountain passes... just a winding road. Trust us, Nadia is a nervous wreck on steep mountain roads and she's totally fine on the drive to Estes.
Do you have a registry?
Your presence at our wedding is gift enough. If you do want to contribute something, we will be setting up a fund for our honeymoon in Spain and Portugal, in which you'll be able to contribute to a part of our trip. Watch this space - we will set up a registry on this site.
