22 Days To Go!

Please keep in mind the heat and humidity. We generally recommend sleeping in and hanging out by the AC Marriott pool, but if you want to go out and about, it is best to get started early on your activities.

SPARTANBURG

There are lots of things to do right here in town!

- Shopping in boutiques on Main Street.

- Hub City Farmers Market, 8-Noon on Saturday.

- Mary Black Rail Trail (paved), along the trail are Fretwell (coffee and breakfast) and the Flock Shop (chicken heavy fare).

- Duncan Park Trail (mostly paved) shady lakeside hike, and they have 4 kayaks for rent. https://wheneverwatersports.com/spartanburg

- Lawson's Fork Creek and River Birch Trail hikes. Both are flat, easy, and shady along the creek. They share the same trailhead. River Birch Trail is paved and you can get brunch at Willy Taco about a mile in.

greenville

It is about 30 minutes to downtown Greenville. Falls Park on the Reedy River is in the downtown area. It is a beautiful place to wander around with many boutiques and restaurants.

landrum/Tryon area

This area is about 30 minutes north of Spartanburg. Both towns are full of antique stores, boutiques, and restaurants and there are many hiking trails in this area of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Asheville

Asheville is about an hour north of here. It is a funky, artsy town with lots of art galleries, shops, and great food. It should also be about 10 degrees cooler, since it is in the mountains. The Biltmore Estate and Asheville Arboretum are here and both beautiful places to visit.

Charlotte

Charlotte is about an hour and 15 minutes from Spartanburg. It is a big city with lots to do. The Whitewater Center is a great outdoor space with whitewater and flatwater kayaking, flatwater SUP, ropes courses, mountain biking, great food and often live music - just keep in mind the heat.
