Our Wedding

There are no words that truly capture the kind of woman Natalie is. She is a rock when I need someone to lean on, a softy when I need something gentle, stern when I need guidance, and the greatest gift I could ever imagine. She is the most caring person I have ever met and compliments me perfectly. If I am bad at it, she excels. If she is bad at it, I excel. In short, she completes me. She is focused on her goals and will accomplish them, but she does not sacrifice her relationship with God to do so. It is her relationship with Christ that drives me to be better in every aspect of life. Her focus on glorifying Him encourages me. I have never met someone that is wiser, more caring, and Christ-centered than she is. The love she shows me is beyond anything I deserve and it encourages me to love her as Christ loved the world. Though we have already done so much together, I look forward to the many ministries, communities, and people we get to reach with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. About Her (by Him)

Joshua is the kind of person that is all in--with Jesus, with me, with school, with ministry. He gives 120% all the time. He's my best friend, my person. The person I want to talk things through with at the end of the day. He lets me yell at him when I'm stressed, he lets me punch him in the arm when I feel like it, he brings me candy when I need it, and he makes me work it off later. In the very beginning of our relationship, he made it perfectly clear that Jesus would be the foundation. He pushes me to be a Godly woman and that is one of the things I love most. He is constantly seeking ways to be a better person and a better light for Christ. He's everything I could ever have dreamed of for my husband (including that list I made when I was 5). A strong spiritual leader. He's taller than me and stronger than me. He doesn't have a mustache and he doesn't smoke. His passion for family ministry is unbelievable and I am excited to walk through the journey alongside him. This is the verse I've been praying over him, and will continue to do so:Psalm 31:24 "Be strong and let your heart take courage, all you who HOPE in the Lord."

About Him (by Her)

Joshua's mom was looking for a prom date for Joshua for his senior prom. She contacted a certain English teacher at West to see if she had anyone in mind that would compliment Joshua. And she did...Natalie. So through a very awkward telephone conversation, Joshua asked Natalie to prom as friends. She said "sure." Two weeks before prom, Joshua decided to ask Natalie to be his girlfriend. It only took two hours and lots of driving in circles before he finally got it out and she said "sure" once again. They began dating April 24, 2013. He was her first everything. But they managed to get to know each other and grew to love one another, only by the grace that God provided. In almost four years of dating, they have had highs and lows that have enabled them to become the people they are today.

Dating

After talking about marriage for nearly three years, Joshua finally decided it was time. You see, it became tricky because he had accidentally told Natalie that he had a ring already. He had to be extra creative with his proposal because he desperately wanted it to be a surprise. He waited until they were out of the country and away from loved ones before he dropped down on one knee in Mexico on their second mission trip together. Turns out, Natalie thought he was kidding and neither one of them are really sure if she ever said yes...

Thank you to both of our families who have shown us what godly relationships are supposed to look like. We are both able to say that, "Wow, if our parents can do it, so can we." Thank you for showing us that example and building us up to know who Jesus is.

1. PLEASE remember to arrive early enough to shuttle over to the ceremony. Ceremony begins 5:30 sharp. Do NOT forget that there will be a shuttle taking all guests to the ceremony venue. Park your car at Mills River United Methodist Church. There will be a shuttle going from 4:30-5:15 pm. PLEASE allow yourself time to use the 5 minute shuttle up the road.2. If you were ASKED to bake a cake for us, please drop it off in MRUMC Fellowship Hall Friday, May 19.3. PLEASE no plus ones. Please only the people specified on the envelope by your bride and groom!4. Guests are NOT permitted to park at ceremony site. Bathroom facilities are available at the church BEFORE and AFTER ceremony.

Attire

--Dressy casual means no jeans and no t-shirts, but comfy khakis, suspenders and sundresses!!--Be comfortable but be aware that the ceremony is outside while the reception is inside.

Course of Events

4:30 pm--Parking, shuttling, seating, pre-ceremony music5:30 pm--Grandparents, Mother of Groom, Mother of Bride are escorted down to their seats5:40 pm--Bride walks down the aisle on the arm of her father5:45 pm--Joshua's tears, Vows, &amp; Rings6:30 pm--Guests head to reception spot while Bride, Groom, Wedding Party, and family take pictures7-10 pm--DANCING, Eating, and Visiting10:00 pm--Bride and Groom exit to sparklers

The Reception

Details

From my little league baseball games to my frustration with Natalie after our first kiss, he has always been there. He is not only my father but also my greatest friend. It does not matter what we are doing, whether it be sushi Saturday or random chicken wing runs. He truly is someone I can always count on.

I have so many memories of playing Cornelia, sledding, family board game night, making up secret knocks between our rooms, and roller blading in the unfinished basement.  I can't imagine marrying my best friend without one of my role models beside me who helped shape who I am today.  Love you and thanks for being my Matron of Honor.

Alianna, you goat.  You brought so much joy into my life and I never wanted to know so much information about horses but here I am.  I knew you would be a Ciaramitaro shortly after you started living with us.  Love ya and thanks for standing up there with me on my big day.

Jordan is my brother and someone I can rely on in any situation. We may not look or act like it, but at the end of the day, we have always been there for each other. He is someone who has expertise in areas I struggle and vice versa, and this fact is what I believe has formed the relationship we have today.

I can't imagine New Year's without you.  So many holidays and two person fiestas happened in the living room at the Thompson house.  I don't know where I'd be without your support and your constructive criticism throughout the years.  Thank you bunches for everything you mean to me.

Mallory Thompson

Pastor B as I know him. Our relationship started as a youth pastor to student, then youth pastor to intern and finally youth pastor to youth pastor. Any question regarding anything can be answered by a nice game of ping pong and some mighty malts. Distance between us may grow because of the ministry we are called to, but no matter the distance I am sure we can always find time for each other. Whether theological or simple, this man is someone I know I can contact for it all.

The "Rain Plan" will be posted here at 11 AM May 20.In case of rain, the ceremony AND reception will be held at Mills River United Methodist Church. Times remain unchanged. The ceremony will be held in the sanctuary and the reception will be held in the fellowship hall, directly downstairs, afterward.
