So...is this an Indian or a "Western" wedding?

It's both! The ceremony will follow traditional Hindu customs, but the reception will be like any other one you've attended (hopefully fun). Prior to the ceremony, some Hindu rituals will be performed, but we are not holding a sangeet. Please refer to your official invitation for further details when it arrives.

How do I RSVP?

Your invitation will direct you to this website, where an RSVP page will be visible. Please let us know if you have any trouble.

What is the dress code for the ceremony and reception?

Short answer: wedding-appropriate attire. Long answer: traditional Indian or formal attire. If it helps, the bride and groom plan to wear traditional Indian attire for the ceremony, but will wear formal attire at the reception.

I want to also wear Indian attire. Where do I even begin?

That's wonderful! Men will have the most options going the kurta route. A kurta is a long tunic that can be worn with either matching pants (known as pajamas - not the sleep clothes!) or a pair of jeans/chinos. In general, women have much more options. Wedding-appropriate styles include lehengas, anarkalis, and saris. Lehengas are three piece outfits which include a fitted blouse, long skirt, and scarf (dupatta) that can be draped in multiple ways. Anarkalis are the easiest to wear, as they only involve a long dress-like top and slim-fitting bottoms. Saris are the most well-known Indian outfits, but they are also the most difficult to wear. A sari is a long piece of fabric that is wrapped around your waist and draped over your shoulder. They are worn with a blouse and petticoat. For a step-by-step guide on how to wrap saris, you can turn to Youtube or click here: https://www.stylecraze.com/articles/easy-saree-draping-tutorials/. If you have any other questions on where to find attire or how to wear them, please don't hesitate to ask us! We're happy to help.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony will be completely indoors. Depending on the weather, the reception venue may allow you to enjoy the outdoor lawn.

I have a dietary restriction - will there be food for me?

We are aware of restrictions for certain family members, and will accommodate as required. However, to be safe, please let us know of any allergies/restrictions when you RSVP to ensure we have acceptable options for you.

Will alcohol be served?

We will have an open bar at the reception. No alcohol will be served during the ceremony.

Do you have a hotel room block?

No. If you are traveling from out of town, please look at the "Travel" page for lodging options near the reception venue. Feel free to contact us if you are stuck and need further assistance.

Is there parking at the venues?

Yes, both the ceremony and reception venues have parking lots.

Do you have a registry?

No. In accordance with common Hindu practices, we are requesting no boxed gifts.
