Once upon a time, in the digital jungle of dating apps, I found my partner-in-crime—or should I say, my partner-in-caffeine—on a lazy Saturday afternoon. It was July 23, 2022, when I decided to take the plunge and swipe right on a little app called Upward. Little did I know, that simple swipe would lead me to someone who would become my favorite adventure buddy.

Our first face-to-face happened at Messenger Coffee Co. on July 31, 2022. Nerves and excitement mingled as we exchanged awkward pleasantries over lattes. But beneath the initial jitters, there was a spark (we were there for FIVE hours) —a genuine connection that left us wanting more.

August 19, 2022, marked the official beginning of our relationship. From then on, we dove headfirst into getting to know each other and build a strong foundation for the rest of our relationship.

Our shared love for exploration soon became a cornerstone of our bond. We started seizing every opportunity to hit the road and explore new destinations. From the bustling streets of Dallas to the scenic beauty of Eureka Springs, we navigated our way through each adventure hand in hand, forging memories that would last a lifetime.

But amidst all the trips and travels, one date holds a special place in our hearts—a hike through the trails of Weston. Surrounded by towering trees and the tranquil sounds of nature, we found solace in each other's company as we navigated the winding paths. It was a simple yet profound moment that solidified our connection and reminded us of the beauty of simply being together.

On March 3rd, 2024 we returned back to Weston, recreating the adventure we enjoyed so much. After walking down the trail and finding the old tobacco barn, I found a picnic waiting - with charcuterie and wine. We sat down to enjoy the afternoon and that’s when he asked me to be his wife. It was a special moment that I will have in my memories forever.

As our wedding day approaches, I can't help but reflect on the journey that brought us here. From a chance encounter on a dating app to a shared love for exploration and adventure, our story is one that I never want to end. And as we stand on the precipice of a new chapter in our lives, I am filled with gratitude for the person who has become my partner, my confidant, and my greatest adventure.
