Why no traditional wedding?

Short answer? We think they suck. They are awkward for everyone, and neither of us prefer being the center of attention. Instead we are choosing to have a small closed ceremony with both of our Mom's as witnesses. We are far more focused on the big picture next steps than the ceremony - it's only important to us that we keep our future Christ-centered.

What are you doing instead of a wedding reception?

You were absolutely not forgotten - instead of a traditional wedding reception we are hosting a very small intimate dinner for our immediate families only. We wanted to keep it small enough to ensure we would be able to spend quality time celebrating with our closest loved ones. We are planning to host an afterparty for friends to join, so stay tuned for details!

Not even a registry? How can we support?

We appreciate your support so much, especially as we are gearing up to save for our first house! If you wish to support our next steps, in lieu of gifts, please consider a contribution to our house-fund! You can donate on our website here, Venmo, or reach out to us directly if there's a better way for you. We have been diligently saving for the next chapter of our lives for the past year, so every gift is truly a blessing for us on our journey, and we can never thank you all enough. How did you first meet each other?

We meet each other on July 23, 2022. Both wishing to have our relationships focus on Christ we found each other on a Christian dating app called Upward. Fun fact - at the time we were using the app, you could not sort your matches geographically - so it was a real treasure that we were able to find each other in our own backyards! Our first date was July 31, and we were dating shortly after on August 19, 2022.

Where did you go on your first date?

We went to Messenger Coffee in Kansas City, MO. We went because Jordyn wanted to show Nathan what a London Fog tea was. Setting the stage for luck for our entire relationship, they did not have that on the menu. Instead we opted for coffee - proceeded to walk to the 3rd floor on what had to have been the hottest day of the year. There was no AC in the room we were in, and we proceeded to profusely sweat and have deep conversation for five hours. We had to leave because they were closing, and I'm sure finding two sweaty betty's on the top floor was exactly what the closing crew was looking for at the end of the day. It was great.
