Nathan and Kayla matched on Hinge on July 4th 2021. After talking and getting to know one another they met for the first time in Madison, WI in September of 2021. A few months later in November of 2021, Nathan and Kayla officially started dating.

From November 2021 to August 2022 Nathan and Kayla did "medium distance" until Kayla moved in with Nathan to Madison in August of 2022. Just 10 days later Nathan and Kayla adopted Finn from the Janesville Humane Society.

Nathan and Kayla then moved to the east side of Madison in June of 2023 ( where they currently reside) and then got engaged in New York City in March of 2024.
