How we met: *not pictured...* We served together at church handing out food to the volunteer team. Nathan immediately had a crush, and of course Kayla was oblivious. The BEST part about the moment we met, Nathan texted a friend who was in the room "WHO IS THAT?" Another text was sent later that day jokingly saying that she was gonna be his wife.... little did he know....

Our first date: Kayla had never been to an Astros game, so naturally Nathan had to fix that. TECHNICALLY speaking, this picture was taken at the second Astros game we went to. At the first game, Nathan hinted, "Do you want to take a picture at your first Astros game?" and of course that went right over Kayla's head.

Our first picture together: Taken with no intention of it becoming one of our favorite photos. In full honesty, Nathan took it to mess with Connor (Kayla's older brother).

Official: In honor of Kayla's favorite movie, a game of Clue begun. Nathan had these photos printed out and cropped to playing card size. After a stellar wingman move by Aaron (Nathan's brother), Nathan swapped out the cards in the answer file to these pictures (technically cheating). After Kayla deduced the answer and made an accusation, the first question was popped. I guess in this case - cheaters do win.

Our first trip together, Colorado: This photo was taken after our hardest hike of the trip, Loveland Pass. We were both extremely sick the entire vacation, and the day we decided to do this hike was the worst hands down. On the way up, we took many breaks and had so many fruitful conversations... it's where we both realized this was "it" for both of us. *this location pops up again a year later*

Our favorite picture together: Taken at a friends wedding on a whim, this quickly became a core memory. It has been in rotation for our lock screens throughout our relationship.

Promise ring: While searching for a promise ring, Nathan fell in love with an engagement ring online. An engagement ring... as a promise ring? Insanity. But, the ring wouldn't leave his thoughts for months. Everyone said he was crazy. Eventually the stars aligned and the ring was purchased. The perfect moment came and, Nathan pulled out the ring (alongside a speech) to gift to Kayla.

6 months in: A philosophy was established (and an extraordinary quote by none other than Nathan himself), "Always choose the cupcake phase, no matter what happens."

2 days before: We climbed Chief Mountain and got arguably the best view we'd seen yet. The main thing on Nathan's mind - "Do I change the location to here?"

The drop of the knee: After careful planning and The Lord BLESSING the weather with snow, we climbed Loveland Pass once more.. and this time, we weren't coming down just as boyfriend/girlfriend.
