Un-traditionally although more common than not these days, Nate and Britt met online on a dating app. Britt had basically given up hope attempting to find a decent man in this world and Nate, well he was just getting started! Nate had set out to start seriously dating when Britt came across his profile and they connected on the app. He mentioned he worked up north and reception was bad so communication was few and far between to start but never the less they had some good conversation. Britt had heard the “reception was bad up north” line many times from guys “casually dating” on the app so she didn't put serious effort into plans with Nate. It wasn't until a few weeks later that Nate was in town and Britt decided to give him a chance and asked if he wanted to go for a drink. They headed out to meet up and on the way there, Britt called her friend Jenny and told her she was on her side of town headed on a date and was cautiously optimistic about it. Britt arrived 15 mins late -naturally, and Nate was perfectly on time - naturally. They sat down and started to get to know each other in real life. Next thing they knew, one hour turned into 3 and Britt was on her way home calling Jenny back to say “ I think I met my person “ to which surprised the both of them! Nate must have felt the same way because they ended up going on 5 dates in 3 days and a week later decided to be exclusive! From there it was an adventure of falling hard for one another, to the trials of Nate working away 3 weeks on and 3 weeks off, to Britt’s countless friends and family wanting to meet the lucky guy that won her heart after all these years, vacations, road trips, buying a house, getting engaged and all the things in between! As most of you have watched online through social media or in person one on one, you can see the love and admiration they have for one another is genuine and playful and they truly bring out the best versions of each other. They have so much fun together and appreciate each other and what each of them brings to the table in their relationship. Love comes easy to them and they are so grateful to share their magical little love story with their closest friends and family.

Jenni, The much older and wiser sister of the bride! Jenni was the natural choice for MOH, not only is she Brittany’s only sister but a true friend that always has her back. Naturally as sisters, their affection for one another ebs and flows but Britt wouldn’t have anyone else stand up there with her on her big day! Jenni is sarcastic and quick witted and always there to build you up, give advice, chirp you, and cheer you on, the perfect sister combo. 

If you see her at the wedding conversational topics could include: inside jokes, lake life, why children write crude things to her on white boards, and how stunning her baby sister looks that day!

Analise, if you know her you love her and if you don’t yet, you will! She’s the Betty to Brittany’s Veronica and the longest running friendship in the group. 
She and Britt grew up down the street from one another, played sports together, worked together, moved countries together and even bought their condos together, one on top of the other! Analise is britts go-to for most life things and even though they no longer live in the same city, see each other as often as possible. Analise is the friend you want and need and Britt is lucky enough to have her as a best friend. Britt is so happy to have her by her side and back in Ireland where a lot of their adventures together began!

Lindsay, the one that keeps Brittany in check, the logic, the structure, the list maker!  Britt couldn’t do anything without linnie, and she knows it too. Lindsay and Britt became friends 20 years ago working at Boston pizza together. Lindsay is one of britts favourite travel buddies since she’s already researched and booked most things while Britt is happy to find out what we are doing and go along with her plan! Lindsay keeps Britt in motivation, always supports her business endeavours both mentally and physically and as is always up for an adventure even if she doesn’t know it’s coming! Britt is so excited to have Lindsay standing up for her in Ireland even though she probably put the most blood sweat and tears into the wedding going off in the first place!

Heather, is hilarious, surprising and a one of a kind friend. She is the teacher that moulds young minds and one of the most
Sarcastic people Britts ever met which makes for a pretty dynamic friendship. Heather and Britt met in high school when Britt asked Heather for a piece of gum and when Heather gave her some Britt said “ I like you, you have gum” and the friendship began. Heather has always been a loyal friend and always has an ear for Britt when she needs it. Britt is so excited to get Heather over to Ireland for the first time and continue the great adventure 23 years of friendship in the making!! Now can we get matching tattoos?

Britni, the basketball buddy, the straight shooter, the one that lets Britt be Britt but always picks up the friendship where it drops off. Britni and Britt met in high school trying out for the basketball team in tenth grade. Naturally the competitive spirit was there but once they both made the team a friendship was inevitable.  They’ve always had fun being the “Britts”  and although their careers as basketball stars have ended, the hilarious conversations continue! It’s never a dull moment if Britni is around! Britt is so happy to have Britni standing up for her in Ireland!

Jenny, Jro, Jenny from the block! She is everything her preceding titles make her out to be! She’s gangster, fun, free spirited and talented! Jenny and Britt met working at WestJet about 6 years ago and once Britt cracked through the music listening, no smile gaze Jenny gave to her work computer, friendship was a destiny!  Jenny is britts laugh-slut and thinks Britt is sooo funny! She keeps Britt in music and swagger and she’s always up for an adventure and has fallen in love with Ireland almost as much a Britt. Britt is so excited to have Jenny back in the homeland for her big day!

Faye, is the mentor Brittany never knew she needed! Faye has always been a cheerleader for Britt not only in hiring her within her wedding business but championing and supporting Britt through her many career adventures. Throughout their almost 20 year friendship,  Faye has always been there for advice and encouragement and a helping hand even if it hurts her physically and mentally lol. Faye is always up for an adventure and will always show up for Britt when she needs it!  Britt is so excited to have Faye stand up for her on her big day and even more excited she took enough ativan on the flight to get there!

Chelsea, the one who made growing up fun! Chelsea and Britt met in high school and although Chelsea was wearing all purple (a color Britt absolutely hates) they hit it off and became friends almost instantly. From late night karaoke  nights to stampede prowls, Chelsea and Britt make the times they have together memorable.. or at least a little memorable lol. They played in a billiards league together and even went to Vegas to play, although not sure if that skill has aged well but willing to break out the ol’ pool cue and see!! Britt is happy to get her over to Ireland to stand up for her after 23 years of friendship!

Laura, ohhh Laura. She’s here because she knows too much!! Britt and Laura met through fellow bridesmaid Chelsea ten years ago. Laura and Britts friendship has always been on the “dude chick” chick level meaning that they have acted more like bros than chicks lol. Which made Laura the best roommate for Britt, so much so that the living situation didn’t ruin them as friends but actually made them life long spirit animals even though they no longer live in the same city. Laura is kind and funny and will literally drop anything for a friend and be there. Britt is so happy she can make the journey to Ireland and stand up for her on her day in the sun!

Suzi, her and Britt have travelled together, have lived together and believe it or not Suzi is the only person Britt trusts with cutting her hair and Suzi has not killed Britt in that process yet lol. Suzi has led the charge in showing Britt what it’s like to be a business owner and has been her go-to hairstylist since the day they met. Although suzi no longer lives in the same city as Britt, they make time to see each other and always answer when each others calls to pick up where they left off. Suzi and britt still have sleepovers to this day when Britt goes to visit suzi in Lethbridge and they always have the most fun reminiscing about adventures and creating new memories. Britt is so excited to have suzi standing up for her this time on her big day and is excited to have her back in Ireland, this time no piercings!!

Nemo and Nate met way back in Grade 7, when he moved to Canada from the former Yugoslavia and have been best friends ever since. Even though they haven't lived in the same city since 2004 they have stayed in touch and had visits/shenanigans many times! From playing high school football together to partying in The Peg for Spring Break the two have had many unforgettable memories. If you chat to the him at the wedding you'll be sure to laugh at some of the stories.

Mike, Nate's longest friendship dating back to Grade 5 in 1995! They've enjoyed so many fun times from cheering on the Packers at Lambeau Field to spending party nights at the Hoochie(ask him for a more detailed explanation). From growing up in Thunder Bay together to chatting on the phone over the years the two have always had a great friendship. Mike has always been together to lend a helping hand and he was a natural choice to stand up with him.

Kari or Swarl as he's known to the boys is quite the pal. He stumbled into Nate in Grade 9 with his Oilers hat on and converted over to a Leaf fan to enjoy the years of futility. They've enjoyed many live sports events and bar nights at the Hodder and other former T Bay watering holes. Kari and Nate have this weird friendship and verbage that very few people can comprehend or would want to. What stories will he have to take back to Canada after this wedding

Kari Kelso

James, Nate's cousin or basically a brother as they were born exactly a month apart and spent many fun times growing up together. From camping in the Summers with their grandparents to attending Packers games live they've always had a great time. Spending holiday's together growing up and other memories make this new adventure in Ireland that much more exciting.

Jody, the older but maybe not always wiser friend. They lived together in Hay River and met in 2006, when Nate first moved back to the NWT from Ontario. They had endless shenanigans and even tried to escape town before Jody's car broke down and they had to go back to NTCL and ask for their jobs back. Jody has been a great Leaf friend to vent to and wonder if they'll ever win the Cup. Nate is excited to have his old "brother" stand up in Ireland.

Nik, the newest friend of the groom, Nik has become a wonderful and reliable friend since they met through his wife/bridesmaid Analise. He's always down for a good time and even though he's an Oilers fan (we can let that one go for now) he's a judge of good character. As a double duty, Nik is also our co- MC, so be sure to listen to his funny and
insightful candor throughout the evening.

Nick and Nate met a few years ago through wife/bridesmaid Faye and have a developed a great friendship as they share common passions of running heavy equipment and NFL football. Blue collar boys that have had a rivalry with teams as Nate, a devout Packers fan and Nick, a stout Bears fan are both excited for the start of the season. They will probably be checking the scores of the games and their fantasy football teams during the weekend. Nate's very excited to have Nick step up and share a few pints of Guinness in Ireland.

Buy your tickets online ahead of time and you’ll save a couple bucks and you’ll have a time slot to be there for! You can get your cups or anything really engraved or embroidered upstairs above the gift shop, be sure to save time for that afterwards!

kilmainham Gaol (jail) is the jail most use during the Irish famine. If you’re a history buff you’ll want to check this out, definitely a must see! BEWARE- these tickets sell out quick and you can only book one month in advance. insider tip* if you miss the booking window - they open up available cancellation spots the morning of at 9am and you can book in!

Over 1000 years old, christs church midieval past is something to see. You can go for worship (free of charge) or do a self guided tour and check out their crypt (super cool) for 11€. Stop down the street for some fish and chips at the famous Leo burdocks and enjoy!

one of dublins most beautiful cathedrals, st Patrick’s is just down the street from Christ’s church cathedral. It’s stunning inside and out and a must see if you’re in the area. if you’re going for worship it’s free but if you want a tour (recommended to learn about it) self guided or guided 10€per adult.

the best fish n chips you’ll ever have! It’s light it’s fluffy and it’s delicious! The oldest place in town am located in the heart of temple bar and a secondary location down the street from Christs church cathedral.

Trinity college campus is just off temple bar and hosts the book of Kells which is a hand written old gospel, and the trinity college library which basically looks like beauty and the beast. Definitely worth seeing! tickets are 19€

Going south to cork

Ready to get the gift of gab? make the 2.5 hour journey from Dublin to blarney and walk the blarney castle gardens. Make your way inside the castle (with no windows or roof keep in mind the weather) and enjoy the spiral staircases to the top where you will kiss the stone over the castle wall (there are guard rails and someone holds you, you can’t fall) and get the gift of gab! Enjoy the gardens and the wishing steps and the large property. Give yourself lots of time! The earlier you go the better for crowds as the your buses start just before mid day and then line ups get long.

Galway and area 

One of britts favourite places in all of Ireland! A traditional Irish pub, with wood chip floor and tables made of singer sewing machines not to mention the thousands of lanterns hanging from the ceiling, this pub is only open 7-11pm and has live traditional Irish music! You want the real feel of Ireland, you’ll get it here in galways iconic salt hill! to continue the night head into Galway city Center and hit up any pub or club and take in all the music and nightlife!

Worth the travel to the west coast. Come see Ireland’s most iconic place, the cliffs of moher (pronounced mower) is a magnificent sea side escape where things like Harry Potter and the princess bride were filmed! it’s a 90 Min drive from Galway and the scenic drive through to the coast is something to see a well!

Northern Ireland 

One of the wonders of the world, the giants causeway is a the only&nbsp;<a href="https://whc.unesco.org/en/list/369/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">UNESCO World heritage site</a>&nbsp;in Northern Ireland, this 6o-million-year-old rock formation seems straight out of a fantasy novel. And the best part is that you can visit this incredible place for free.That being said, if you need to use the bathroom or you’d like to do a self guided tour or park onsite to you will need to purchase a ticket. Our advice (from experience) it is best to just purchase the ticket and all of the above is included. They also have a bus that can take you down or you can walk but be mindful you’re right on the coast and the weather changes FAST! You are also using the British pound so bring change as you need 1 pound to take the bus either way. We suggest a walk down and a bus back and bring a poncho!

Giant's Causeway

The iconic titanic museum! This is where the historic ship was built! You are on a self guided your where you will learn everything from how the ship was built and tested as well as the guests on board as well as the the movie and the lifeboats used. Definitely worth a visit if you’re heading up to Belfast.
