The end of May of 2021, Nathaniel and Elizabeth met through a Christian dating app. He actually super-liked her and little did he know, Elizabeth recognized him.
In fall of 2013, both Nathaniel and Elizabeth's older sister, Anna, went to college at Vermilion Community College in Ely, MN. With it being a small school and being in the same program, they got to know each other. Elizabeth remembers Anna coming home from school telling the family stories about this crazy kid in her class named Fox. He was this guy that really loved fishing, swimming, and anything else involving the outdoors.
Fast forward many years and lots of personal growth and growth in our relationships with the Lord, Elizabeth approached Anna about Nathaniel reaching out and messaging her. Anna was eager to tell her that he was the only guy from school that she would approve of her dating.
At the time Elizabeth was working full time at Caribou Coffee and Nathaniel was living up in Northern Minnesota working at a camp called Wilderness North owned and used by the ministry, Tentmakers. He was also getting prepared to spend a Year on Mission with the ministry. While he knew that was a big commitment, he did not know how it would work to start dating.
But after lots of texting on and off through the summer and fall, Nathaniel and Elizabeth decided to meet up for the first time and get lunch at Cracker Barrel on November 29, 2021. They both walked away with a lot of hope and joy for a future together.
While Elizabeth was still in Minnesota, Nathaniel had moved to Valley City, North Dakota for his place to serve for Year on Mission.
