We are thrilled to invite you to our wedding near the historical city of Galle, Sri Lanka, on 24 August 2024. Set among tea estates, and nestled between the trees of Kahanda Kanda boutique hotel, we will be celebrating the day with an enchanted rainforest theme.
The afternoon will begin with a traditional poruwa ceremony, followed by cocktails, dinner and dancing.

Dress Code
In Sri Lanka, most men wear suits to weddings, while women usually wear Sri Lankan or Indian style saris or lehenga. Less often, men might wear a sarong and traditional top.
Please bear in mind that Galle is hot and humid, and our wedding is outdoors. For us the most important thing is that you feel comfortable - if this means a summer dress, leaving the jacket behind, or coming in shorts and sandals, that's fine with us! As this is a garden wedding, we would leave the stilettos at home.
Let us know if you'd like help finding a traditional outfit for the wedding, in Sri Lanka or overseas, or if you need help with draping.
Accommodation and Transport
Kahanda Kanda is on Sri Lanka's south coast, near the historical city of Galle and the popular beach towns of Unawatuna, Ahangama, Weligama and Mirissa. These locations have a wide range of accommodation options, from hostels to guesthouses, private villas and luxury hotels.
You can reach Galle from Colombo in around three hours by train or road. From Galle, it is easy to move by taxi or rickshaw on to your accommodation and the wedding venue (please see the 'transport' section of our travel page).
While ride-sharing apps work well in Galle, they will be less reliable for return journeys from Kahanda Kanda, so we recommend organising this in advance. Hotels and guesthouses should be able to help.
Gifts
We know that many guests will be making long (and expensive) journeys to celebrate our wedding. This means a great deal to us, and we do not expect further gifts.
