It all started in 6th grade when Ari first noticed Nate across the gym. He had no idea she existed, but Ari had already decided he was something special. Fast forward to 7th grade: Ari moved to Resnik, unsure if Nate would stay at McNair or follow her to the new school. On the first day of school, she held her breath, and there he was, walking into her 2nd-period science class. Her heart soared—was this fate? Then, as if the stars aligned, he walked into her 3rd-period math class too. At the time, they were just two adorably awkward kids who couldn’t even muster the courage to say hello.

Toward the end of 7th grade, they finally built up the nerve to start dating. They were shy, giggly, and full of butterflies. But by 8th grade, things hit a bump: Nate broke Ari’s heart, and she swore she’d never speak to him again. (Spoiler alert: she didn’t keep that promise!)

When Ari began planning her quinceañera, she secretly hoped Nate would be by her side. Though he didn’t stand with her, she couldn’t resist inviting him to join her for the surprise dance. On her birthday—the day before her quinceañera—Nate asked her to be his girlfriend. From that day forward, it’s been Nate and Ari, inseparable and better together. Their first date at the neighborhood Whataburger kicked off a tradition of late-night fries and endless laughter. Over the years, they tackled middle school, high school, and college side by side, growing closer through every chapter.

Friday night lights became Ari’s favorite part of high school. She was always on the sidelines, cheering Nate on at his football games, so much so that she became an athletic trainer just to be closer to him on the field. And Nate was always her number-one fan, especially during her mariachi performances, where he watched with pride as she sang her heart out. Even now, he cheers her on when she sings karaoke at their favorite taqueria.

Along the way, they created a home filled with love and a bit of chaos, thanks to their three dogs. Though their sweet girls, Jazmin and Chloe, now enjoy endless adventures in puppy heaven, their boy Bernie keeps the house lively with his playful energy and never-ending love. Together, they’ve explored the world, traveling to South Padre, Florida, Houston, Missouri, Georgia, and Colorado, with dreams of visiting so many more places. They bond over their shared love of football (even if Ari’s a die-hard Chiefs fan and Nate loyally roots for his Panthers), spontaneous adventures like grabbing concert tickets just an hour before the show starts, and last-minute movie dates filled with popcorn and cozy cuddles. They spend their days working out at the gym, singing their hearts out during car rides, discovering new restaurants, and worshiping together at church.

Then came the moment they’d both been waiting for. On November 26, 2024, Nate proposed at the Tower of the Americas. With the city lights twinkling around them and their friends and families there to share the joy, Ari’s dreams finally came true. It was a day filled with happy tears, laughter, and so much love.

Now, Nate and Ari are ready to start the next chapter of their adventure. They can’t wait to celebrate this incredible milestone surrounded by the people they love most. Here’s to a lifetime of love, laughter, and Whataburger dates!
