Nelda -

Shawn and I met in 2009 through the online dating website, MySpace, while I was living in the Philippines. My first impression of him was that he was nice and respectful. (The good looks were a bonus!) If you asked Shawn what his first impression of me was, he would say that he was captivated by my eyes and my sexy voice. From that moment on, we kept the lines of communication going. Fast forward to 2019, I had established myself in Seattle with my children. Shawn and I reconnected and started chatting more consistently.

Shawn –

After years of off and on connections with Nelda, in 2019, I took a chance and invited her to fly cross-country, giving us the opportunity to meet in person for the first time. While I could tell she was nervous, our moments together were magical. It wasn’t long before I felt the pull to go meet this sweet lady’s family. In the next two years, Nelda took a leap of faith and moved to Virginia to start a new life with me.

Nelda –

Shawn made me feel secure in our relationship through putting in effort to prove how seriously he loved and cared for me after I moved to Virginia. We are continuing to invest and grow and learn more about each other every day.

We are now engaged and awaiting our wedding in April 2025 where we will exchange our vows. We have learned that with God’s grace and love that prayers do come true for those who trust and believe. As Shawn would say, “Virginia is for lovers. We have both taken a chance on love and the rest is history.”

The most important thing is to have you with us on our special day. In Lieu of Gifts, we really don't need anything new. Instead of receiving a small wedding gift, donations for our honeymoon funds would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance from the bottom of our hearts.
