FAQ

Where's the ceremony and reception taking place?

They are both taking place at Beech Hill in separate areas in the grounds of the country house. The 30 acre rural property is exclusive for our wedding day and was recently awarded Northern Ireland Wedding Venue of the Year (2022).

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Both! The ceremony will take place in the forest, drinks reception overlooking the lake, canapés in the beautiful Georgian lounge before a five course dinner, speeches and evening celebrations (awesome live band & DJ) in the Garden Pavilion marquee.

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

The dress code for our wedding is formal attire. Eg, suit & tie, dress.

How do I get to the wedding venue?

The address is : 32 Ardmore Rd, Londonderry BT47 3QP, United Kingdom. *Overseas visitors, please don't get confused that the address has 'United Kingdom' on it. The venue is in Northern Ireland.

How do I secure a room at Beech Hill for the wedding?

{UPDATED MAY 2024} Our wedding venue is exclusively ours for the wedding. There are stunning rooms available in the country house and we highly recommend staying there on the wedding day/night. You can wake up refreshed and explore the grounds before enjoying a beautiful breakfast. We have secured a great deal on the rooms. Please copy and paste the following URL link to see a list of the rooms with some sample photos, details and costs. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1n_qC4ezS66GuMVrgnff-LP75VLZ0JvHD If you would like to secure a room, please email us on aussiegodwins@gmail.com or whatsapp (+61473305931) the room number and a contact number. Closer to the wedding date, the Beech Hill Wedding Team will call you to take payment. This is the only way to book a room currently. (Apologies for the truncated process.) Please secure this as soon as you can as there are a limited number of rooms available.

What will the weather be like in Ireland in October?

Honestly, who knows! It could be raining, hailing or sunshine! Let's cross our fingers for blue skies and sunshine! For the Aussies, prepare for a cold winter's day with a hopeful top of 16 degrees. For the Brits and the Irish, you'll know better than us!

What time should I arrive?

Help us get the party started as scheduled! We recommend that you arrive 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony to make sure everyone is seated on time. Our formal invitations will have the ceremony starting time on them.

Where should guests park?

There's ample space at the venue to park for free.

Can I bring a plus one?

Unfortunately, we have a strict guest list. Our celebration is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your wedding invitation.

Where can I get my make up and/ hair done for the wedding?

We don't have any personal recommendations for make up artists or hairdressers but we'd recommend searching on google for the best. Some areas you may want to include are Derry, Letterkenny, Buncrana, Moville, Greencastle, Muff, Carndonagh. Those are the towns nearby.

Do you recommend anywhere local for getting my nails and/or tan done?

My aunty Della has an award winning salon in Buncrana. They are always booked up well in advance so please do book them. Check them out on Facebook or Instagram, search DK Beauty.

Are kids welcome?

While we adore your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the day. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us. Please know immediate family members' kids will be part of the day.

Can you assist with organising a local Nanny / Babysitter?

Are you taking your kids to Ireland but they are not attending the wedding? Or perhaps they are attending parts of the wedding but you would like a babysitter for afterward? The nanny will look after your children while you party the day away at the wedding. Please let us know before June 30 if you would like assistance with this.
