Frequently asked questions

What is the dress code?

The dress code for our wedding is Formal/ Cocktail, so please dress in Sundays best, no jeans or t-shirts. Fall in Galena can be unpredictable. For our lady guests, we do recommend flats or heel protectors to ensure your comfort walking around the property. Shawls will also be provided for the ceremony.

What are accommodations for out of town guests?

We understand our guests will be traveling from out of town to join us for our special day. To ensure your comfort, we have arranged shuttle services to transport to and from the event. We also have blocked rooms to our hotel to ensure an easy checking in process. Please see the travel tab for more details. We also invite you to check out the 'Things to do' tab as well to ensure your stay in Galena is a memorable as ours. Feel free to reach out for any further question!

Can we take photos during the ceremony?

While we love that you want to capture our special moment, we kindly request for an unplugged ceremony to allow everyone to be fully immersed in the experience. Our photographers will highlight the special moments during the ceremony that we will share afterwards. We appreciate your understanding.

Is there available parking near the venue?

Yes, the venue does have it's own parking lot for guests who would prefer to drive! If you prefer to drive to the venue and shuttle back to the hotel, you may leave your car at the venue, however, it must be picked up the following day by 10am.

What are the accommodations for Halloween?

Halloween is in full swing in Galena with many Halloween events in place. We understand that many of our guests will be traveling on Halloween itself October 31st. Please check here for updates and trick or treating routes for our little guests!

Where will the ceremony be located?

The wedding ceremony will be located in the Woodland Forest, located on the property. For those who need assistance to the Woodland Forest, Oak Hill Farms invites you to utilize their golf cart services. If the weather should be unfavorable, the ceremony will be moved to the St. James Chapel also located on the property.

Where will the Cocktail/Reception be located?

Providing the weather is favorable, cocktail hour will be held at the Woodshed Bar, located next to the Woodland Forest as well as the Pavilion. During cocktail hour, we invite you to tour the School House as well as the Country Store located on the property! Our Reception will be held at the Pavilion, located next to Woodshed Bar. If the weather turns to unfavorable conditions, cocktail hour will be held in the Pavilion. Below we have listed a map of the property as well as a link to the website of Oak Hill Farms!
