Formerly known as the Bok Vocational High School, the building opened to students in 1938. Many of the classrooms were built to accommodate trade-specific study — like the steel rooms built for welding materials that exist inside many of the spaces, or the first floor rear of the building that was an auto mechanic shop, or the 3rd floor full kitchen built to train students in culinary arts. Notable alumni include Jamie's grandfather, Albert Marandola, Sr.
In recent years, Bok has been repurposed to house an event venue, restaurants and bars, as well as a community-based marketplace. It is home to many small businesses, such as coffee shops, bakeries, ceramic artists, glass blowers, clothing stores, and more!
Although there were some cosmetic changes over the building's 75 year history, it remains largely unchanged. See if you can spot some remnants of its days as a high school!
