Nick & Michaela

Saturday, October 12, 2024 • Kalispell, MT

Nick and Michaela’s story is one filled with love, adventure, and an abundance of happiness. The happy couple met as many people their age do, through a dating app. Not the most romantic meet-cute, granted, but they each swiped right and started talking immediately, and as frequently as they possibly could. At the time, Michaela was playing softball for the University of Montana and Nick was the IT Manager at a local sporting goods store, but somehow through this hectic time in each of their lives, they managed to make time for each other. Throughout all their conversations, it became clear to each of them that they had found someone special. Michaela hosted their first official date on November 15th, 2019 and invited Nick to come over to her apartment to cook him dinner and watch a movie together. That first meeting was all Nick needed to be certain that he had found his future wife. Michaela then invited him to go to the University of Montana’s Grizzly football game with her the following day and they have been nearly inseparable since. Their love, much like a flower greeting the sun on a new day, blossomed quickly and filled both of their hearts, and they made their relationship official soon after their first date, on November 21st, 2019. From that point onwards, the couple navigated life as partners, through many ups and downs. They met the challenges of life head on, and neither was afraid to lean on the other. From COVID hitting them both hard, and cutting Michaela’s final season of softball short, to taking a leap of faith and deciding to move together to be closer to Michaela’s family in Las Vegas, the couple’s love and faith in one another never faded. Even through one of the greatest tragedies in Nick’s life, losing his mother to a bike accident, Michaela and Nick’s love only grew stronger. Then, after a year of living together in the hustle and bustle that is Las Vegas, they decided to move back to Montana into a house they bought together in Frenchtown. This allowed them to each fulfill their dreams of having a place of their own, as well as allowing Michaela’s animal-loving lifestyle to blossom. Throughout the few years that they have lived in their home together, the couple has grown their animal family quite considerably, in that they now have five horses, four dogs, three cats, ten chickens, and a bunny. The couple was certainly full of happiness, love, and fur, but Nick knew something was still yet to be done. He found out that Michaela’s grandmother had never been to Hawaii, and neither had he, so he decided that would be the place to pop the question and started scheming. Hiding the true purpose of the trip behind taking Michaela’s Grandmother to Maui for her birthday, he was able to completely surprise Michaela. The proposal was not without its speed bumps, and like any other good plan, all of Nick’s schemes went entirely out of the window. Initially he had planned to propose at the Seven Sacred Pools located on nearly the opposite side of Maui from where they were staying, and the group made it nearly all the way there but were stopped five miles short because a bridge was out. So, the crew turned around and decided to drive to the Nakalele Blowhole which was located nearly at the opposite end of the island, even further past where the group was staying. After several hours crammed into a van, and all of Nick’s carefully laid plans thrown to the wayside, Nick proposed on the cliffside above the ocean overlooking the blowhole on June 15th, 2022. Now the couple anxiously awaits their wedding at Diamond B Ranch in Kalispell, MT on October 12th, 2024 to celebrate their love and start their next big adventure.
