Nick and Delaney first met their freshman year at Normal Community High School where they shared Biology and US History. Nick's opening line was to talk about the rat dissection exam, but Delaney still gave him her cell phone number on the last day before summer break. The pair started dating in October 2013 after their first date to see Insidious 2. Throughout high school, they attended 3 Homecoming dances, 3 Sadie Hawkins dances, and 2 proms.

Nick and Delaney both attended the University of Illinois for their undergraduate degrees, where they continued to date and attended many more dances. Following graduation, Nick moved to Chicago for work while Delaney headed to Indianapolis to attend the Indiana University School of Dentistry. Nick asked Delaney to marry him while on a trip to Charleston, SC in May 2023 and she said YES! Nick joined Delaney in Indianapolis in July 2023 where they share a little red house and a very fat cat. The pair celebrated the 10 year anniversary of their very first date in October 2023.

Nick and Delaney will begin their marriage in Ann Arbor, Michigan where Delaney has accepted a position at the University of Michigan Hospital for residency in Hospital Dentistry (and Nick is happy he will no longer have to be sole provider of the household). They look forward to this next phase of their journey together!
