On July 16, 2023, Daniel had bought tickets to see Aladdin at the Jubilee Auditorium. He took Nicole to their favourite restaurant, Nello’s, where they enjoyed a wonderful dinner. During dessert their waiter offered to take their picture, and presented it to them when they paid their bill. Unbeknownst to Nicole, Daniel had arranged to have a photo taken, so that they would have a memory from the night he proposed.

Daniel and Nicole enjoyed the show, and went to the legislature grounds after to walk around the gardens. They sat on a bench, enjoying their surroundings and casually discussing bringing their future children there to play. Daniel chose this moment to take out the ring he had specially designed for Nicole that represented their relationship and their future together. Nicole took the ring from the box, put it on her finger and said, “A perfect fit!”

He explained that the heart represented his undying love for Nicole. The twisted band and diamonds represented their love for nature. The most personal element came as he turned the ring sideways so she could see the inscription and said, “And now you can’t deny it!” Nicole read it out loud: “The most perfect.”
