Event FAQs

Where will the reception be held?

The reception will be held on Sunset Key. All other events including the welcome party, after party, and superbowl party will be held on the main island of Key West. Details of the ceremony and reception to come! Please see the "KW FAQs" tab for more information on Key West and Sunset Key.

When is the RSVP deadline?

We will be sending formal invitations, but please feel free to RSVP here on the website as soon as possible! This will assist us in making our event plans.

Can I bring a date?

Please check your invite for your +1!

What is the dress code?

Beach Formal. Bright colors are welcomed. Men, please wear suits or sports jackets with dress pants. Women, please wear long dresses. Please note, that the reception will be held mostly on sand except the dance floor, so please wear appropriate shoes. If you have something in mind, but you are unsure, please feel free to reach out to us directly and ask! Also, you can see our dedicated tab at the top of the website titled "Attire" for some inspiration on what to wear!

Will transportation be provided?

Transportation will be provided between the ceremony and the reception. A private Catamaran will ferry our wedding guests from Key West to Sunset Key at the time of the event. Do not be late for the Catamaran, there is only one trip that will be made! More information on exact Wedding Day Details and Timing to come.

Are kids welcome?

Little ones of direct family members are invited to attend the wedding ceremony. However, we recognize that some of you will be traveling with your kids, so please reach out if you would like a referral for local babysitters or if you have any questions.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Both the ceremony and reception will be outdoors. The reception will be held in a large sandy area with a hard dance floor and a tent overhead for shelter.

What will the weather be like?

In February in Key West the climate is relatively dry and quite nice. With an average temperature 75°F the days tend to be warmer with the cooler temperatures in the evening. We recommend light layers for the evening.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Yes! We would love for you to take photos and share them on our app. However, please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony.

What if I have food allergies or dietary requirements?

You can let us know if you have any allergies, or dietary restrictions with your RSVP. Please get in touch if you have concerns or additional questions.

Logistics for Sunset Key Guests

If you have booked your hotel accommodations at Sunset Key, the private island where the reception will be held, please keep reading. Only guests with accommodations can access Sunset Key, with the exception of the wedding day on 2/8/25. Check-In is at 4pm. Check-Out is at 11 am. We are working on an earlier check-in time. The only way on and off the island is via the Sunset Key Ferry. The ferry trip is 500 yards. There are no roads. The access point to the ferry from Key West is located at Opal Key Marina at 245 Front St, Key West, FL. The ferry leaves promptly, no exceptions. Do not be late or they will leave you behind. The ferry runs from 6:45am to 10:45pm. Ferry GOING TO Sunset Key leaves on the 00:00 and 00:30 Ferry GOING TO Key West leaves on the 00:15 and 00:45. If you need ferry service after 10:45pm, all you have to do is ask the front desk at Opal Key or call Sunset Key at 305.292.5300.
