Q + A

Are children welcome to attend?

Yes! Please let us know if you are bringing the kiddos so we can plan accordingly. There is an outdoor playground on site at the park right next to the pavilion if they want to run around! Please also let us know if you will be needing anything specific for them since this is not a traditional venue with high chairs, booster seats, etc. We will be using large picnic tables.

Is the wedding outdoors?

That is the plan! We will have access to two covered pavilions and a bathroom at the park. The park is open to the public and it is very likely that there will actually be a race going on the day of our wedding (go figure!) so be prepared to see some sweaty unfamiliar faces in race gear passing through throughout the day :)

How should I dress?

We will be all dolled up :) So, we are asking that our guests arrive in anything from dressy casual to cocktail attire. Remember, this is a day time wedding at a public park in October, so wear layers if you get cold easily and wear some comfortable shoes. There is concrete and paved areas throughout our reception area, but it is possible you will be walking through grass or dirt for the ceremony. It would also be smart to bring along an umbrella in your car just in case!

What is the parking situation?

There is plentiful parking right next to our reserved pavilions. There are several handicap spots available for those who might need that option.

Do I have to pay to get into the park?

No way, Jose! We have pre-paid your entry fee and your name will be on our guestlist with the park rangers as you enter. Just tell them you are here for the Jun Wedding and if they ask, give them the names of the people in your party.

What time should I expect the event to end?

We have the space rented for the entire day, but Patapsco Valley State Park closes at sunset every night. Therefore, we all have to be in our cars and out of the park absolutely no later than 6pm. We are asking that our guests begin making their way to theirs cars no later than 5:30pm. We will already be cleaning up by that time anyway :) Don't worry, our DJ will be making announcements and keeping everyone in the loop!

Can I bring a guest?

Please refer to your invitation to see if we have a reserved a seat for you to bring a guest along. Your invitation will indicate the number of people we have reserved a seat for and you can let us know when you RSVP how many people on your invitation will be in attendance.
