We have known each other for many years and found ourselves at countless social gatherings together, neither of us ever imagining we would be where we are today.

In 2018, we saw each other in a new light. A light that I don't think either of us saw coming! Scottie asked Nicole to dinner, and because of his work schedule and her work commitments, Nicole's work Christmas party was the only night they could do. Nicole remembers being so nervous, but pretty much the second Scottie came to her door - that was it. We both later found out the feeling was mutual - we instantly fell in love.

Despite the stress of living in separate towns, we made the long distance work for as long as we could stand. After braving the winter roads for one season, we decided that it was enough. In 2019, Nicole left her job in Kimberley, packed up her and Bella, and off they went to Sparwood where they moved in with Scottie and Rose, AKA "the kitten". While Bella was thrilled with this, Rose was unsure of her new fur sister, but fast forward a few months later and their relationship progressed to snuggles together on the bed.

In November 2020, while spending a weekend in Banff with our friends Pete and Sam, Scottie popped the question at the top of the Banff gondola and of course Nicole said yes! It was such an incredible moment. Scottie did not know during the planning stages of the proposal that Nicole is terrified of gondola's; however, they laugh about it now...

On April 23, 2021, we welcomed our first child, Morgan Bennett Stadnichuk. He has been a dream come true for us and is a very loved little man. Shortly after Morgan was born Bella crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Our hearts were broken. We finally decided that in August, we were ready for a new dog and adopted our little white fluffball Lola off the streets of Mexico. Poor Rose, another furball invading her space.... The five of us now live in our first home that we purchased together in the Sparwood Heights.
