It’s the year 2020 and there was currently an infectious pandemic that kept many people indoors... People were stressing about the upcoming presidential election...

To keep it simple, we both swiped right. Thanks, Hinge! Brian’s icebreaker to get the conversation going was “who is your favorite Mario Kart character?” From there, we instantly connected and discovered we shared the same amount of nerdiness, from video games, board games, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, comic conventions, etc. Moreover, we are both dog lovers! Brian thought Nikki’s dog, Sheldon, was ADORABLE and Sheldon LOVED him!

After a month of talking via text and phone, we both decided to meet in-person, even though there was a risk of going out and quarantine rules in place. On October 4th, 2020 (our wedding date was not picked randomly!) we went on our first date at Duke of Perth. We both were relieved we were not catfished (online dating is no fun at times!) and Brian learned of Nikki’s love for burgers and cheese. After our first date, we continued to stay in touch and went on a couple of more dates.

One month later, on November 7th, 2020, Brian was dancing, singing, and cooking pasta for the both of them in his studio apartment. Randomly, he started to play and sing “I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend” by the Ramones to Nikki and that’s when we became an official couple. Over the course of 3 years, we have made countless memories, from getting a puppy (Kacchan!), moving in together, and taking trips to Michigan, Texas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Colorado, California, and Oregon.

Brian knew that Nikki was his forever adventure partner and got down on one knee at El Capitan Meadow in Yosemite National Park on May 21st, 2023. Not only did we find the perfect partner, but our best friend. We are excited for this next step in our life and excited to celebrate with you all!
