Getting to Malaysia

Travel visas

US citizens do not need a visa to visit Malaysia for trips shorter than 90 days.

Passport validity

Your passport must be valid for at least six months from your travel dates.

Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC)

For immigration, you need to register online for MDAC and it's mandatory. You can register upon arrival but it's inconvenient. KLIA only has four desktop computers in their registration area and a QR code so you can complete it on your phone. However, once you're registered, getting through immigration is quick using the new autogate. Click here to register.

Transportation

Airport Transfer Service

To get between the airport and your hotel, we’d recommend using a transfer service like Welcome Pickups. Booking is easy and costs $30-$50 each way, depending on the time of day.

Ride Hailing Apps

Once you’re in KL, you can easily get around using local ride hailing apps like Grab. Grab is widely used and rides typically cost less than $5.

Welcome Dinner Shuttle

A private bus will transport guests between AC Hotel and Sutra House for the welcome dinner on Friday, August 23. See hotel departure time on the home page.

Accommodation

We've secured a group rate that includes breakfast at AC Hotel Kuala Lumpur. It's $55/night per room (+ tax) and is valid anytime August 18-28.

Rooms are subject to availability so we recommend booking soon!

Location

The hotel is a 15-minute walk from Sunway Putra Mall, which has a good selection of restaurants, a nice little grocery store, and shopping (tip: check out Uniqlo, it's cheaper than in the US due to the exchange rate).

It's also a 7-minute drive or 25-minute walk from Sri Kenny, where the wedding ceremony will be.
