The Story of The Future.... Mr. & Mrs. Smith

Picture of The Story of The Future.... Mr. & Mrs. Smith

“Marriage is not merely an ideal, but the true measure of love between a man and a woman—a love that is complete, unwavering, and abundant.” —Pope Leo XIV

The Bible speaks profoundly about marriage, revealing it as a sacred covenant designed by God. And so it is with us, two separate journeys now woven into one. It is our joy to share how God’s plan for our lives together has been unfolding all along.

Though we were born in different countries, shaped by different eras, and raised on opposite coasts, our paths intertwined in a way beyond human imagination. What might seem to some unlikely was, in fact, part of a divine plan. As Philippians 2:13 reminds us: It is God who is at work in us, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

A testament to His guidance and perfect timing, our love story is authored by grace, unfolding with divine purpose. Our story is not a product of luck, chance, or mere coincidence, but a reflection of God’s divine design—woven with purpose to lead each other toward eternal life in Him. Together, we build our family on the firm foundation of our Catholic faith, with Carmen, whom we are so blessed to raise together. And, with any future children He entrusts to us.

With hearts rooted in His love and truth, we are committed to our union as a living testimony of a sacred journey, guided by grace —shining His light not only in our marriage but also in the lives of our family, friends, and community.

We first met in at a Jersey/Philly Man Magazine event, but it wasn’t until years later we sensed a special friendship growing—but without yet knowing that God had destined us for marriage. Our first date began at Lamberti’s in Margate, ending with a sunset stroll. This stroll set in motion by divine design shined through seasons of time, with our bond taking root—first in friendship, then in love, deepening over the years, growing into a lasting, unshaken, enduring love.

With age and wisdom, we are prepared to enter into the Holy Sacrament of Marriage, knowing that marriage is not merely companionship, but a sacred embrace of selfless, unconditional love—a love that mirrors the divine, reflecting the sacrifice and grace with which God loves. And we are inspired knowing that refined by time and strengthened by faith and our commitment, our love will continue to deepen. . .and is destined to endure.

As a sacrament, our union reflects Christ’s love for the Church. The way we will love and serve each other is meant to make God’s presence visible to the world. And by remaining faithful to each other through life’s challenges, we will bear witness to God’s unwavering and merciful love, showing that love can endure all things. Too, married love is caught up in the divine love of the Holy Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—which is a communion of persons. We pray that the mutual love and reciprocity in our marriage will reflect this core Christian mystery.

Thus, it is with great joy and fulfillment that we enter into the Sacrament of Marriage, grateful for the abundant graces bestowed upon our lives. And with joyful hearts, we look forward to the witness and celebration with family and friends of our sacred covenant, the Sacrament of Marriage, as we unite in God’s love and grace.

In His Name, “So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate” (Matthew 19:6)
