What is Sangeet & Jaggo?
This is our biggest celebration before the wedding! The Sangeet is a night of dance performances, music, and fun—where both families come together to celebrate. Jaggo means “wake up!” It’s a lively Punjabi tradition where the bride’s family dances through the night carrying decorated pots with lights—originally used to wake up the village and invite everyone to celebrate the wedding (Thats why they are called big fat Indian weddings lol)
It’s one of the most fun and high-energy parts of the wedding, filled with dhol drums, dancing, and tons of excitement. At our wedding, we’re including it during the Sangeet night, so be ready to hit the dance floor when the Jaggo kicks off! a traditional Punjabi ritual, follows with decorated pots, drum beats (dhol), and a night full of dancing and energy.
What to Expect
Be ready for family dance battles, high-energy Bhangra, dhol beats, and nonstop fun. The Jaggo often continues late into the night with dancing, food, and celebration.
What to Wear
This is your chance to go full glam! Bring out your sparkly lehengas, sherwanis, or western party outfits. Dress to dance, shine, and take lots of pictures!
