I’ve never been to an Indian wedding before. What should I expect?
Traditionally, Indian weddings tend to be large and span over a couple of days. Although each region of India has its own specific customs, the general concept is the same – it’ll be a Big Fat Indian Wedding, filled with vibrant colors, music, and plenty of food and dancing. Although family members and close friends may have a role, the remainder of the guests are invited to sit back and enjoy.
What should I wear?
There are many beautiful types of Indian outfits, and there’s no strict rule on what to wear to each event. While Indian attire is always welcome and encouraged, it’s absolutely not required—we just want you to feel festive and comfortable!
For the Sangeet/Jaggo and Wedding Ceremony, we recommend wearing bright, bold colors—and don’t be afraid to add some sparkle or fun accessories. This is the time to celebrate, dance, and stand out!
The Reception will be formal evening attire, so think gowns, lehengas, sarees, tuxedos, or suits—bring your best dressed self!
Below are some wesbites, where you can find affordable outfits for both men, and women. Ask Bride if you have any questions.

What kind of food will be served?
We often say that the best part of an Indian wedding is the food. There will be a wide variety of dishes with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options at each of the events. Food cuisine will be Indian and American. The food will be served buffet style, so that guests will have the option to choose what they’d like to eat. Please let us know if you have any food restrictions or allergies.
What about wedding gifts? Do you have a wedding registry?
We are so excited to celebrate this special moment with the people we love most—and truly, your presence is the greatest gift we could ask for.
In keeping with Indian wedding tradition, we kindly request no boxed gifts. Since we’ll be on the move over the next couple of years and haven’t yet settled into a permanent home, we’ve chosen not to create a traditional registry at this time.
If you feel called to give, we would be incredibly grateful for contributions to our honeymoon fund. We’re hoping to take a meaningful trip together after the wedding—filled with rest, adventure, and memories to last a lifetime.
Thank you for your love, blessings, and for being part of our journey.
Can I bring a plus one?
In effort to keep our wedding as intimate as possible, only the guest formally invited will be accommodated. If you received a plus one, they will appear when you RSVP. Thank you for understanding.
What if I don’t RSVP on time?
If we do not receive your RSVP by Feb 1st 2026, it will automatically be marked “no”. We will miss celebrating with you but it’s imperative we provide our vendors with final guest count within the time frame they have given us. Thank you for under.
Where should I stay for the wedding weekend.
