On May 14, 2021 George approached Noemi at a bar in Atlanta, GA, and as the old adage goes, the rest is history. As smiles spread across their faces, and their eyes widened with eager anticipation for what was to come, they experienced something they only thought happened in movies - love at first sight. They began chatting and never stopped. Their conversation flowed that night from discussing Bob Dylan lyrics to Noemi picking at George’s Minnesotan accent - spoiler alert - she was smitten by it.

Since that night, Noemi and George have continued to bond over music and George’s love for the land of 10,000 lakes. They have also revelled in shared passions for food, dancing, and sporcle quizzes. It is not uncommon to hear them talking with such fiery energy only to find out it’s about what is the best food from each country or which town in the northwest region of the United States has the largest consumption of lumber per capita.

Over many trips to Asheville and visiting family in Seattle, Indiana, and Minnesota, Noemi and George have become excellent road trip companions, which, let’s be honest, is the hallmark to a good relationship. Hiking, visiting breweries, and going out can be quite tiring, so it’s a good thing Noemi and George love a night in playing 20 questions and Heads Up. Sushi is a staple in their household as is sleepytime tea, malts, Friends, and at home two person dance parties accompanied by their record player. Their home is just as warm and inviting as they are, with smells of sage and chamomile, or if you’re lucky enough to have dinner with them, home-cooked biryani or sausage pasta.

On June 12, 2023, about 2 years after George asked Noemi to be his girlfriend, George had another question for Noemi. Outside an ice cream shop, surrounded by twinkly lights and yellow flowers just as bright as Noemi, George got down on one knee and shared with her that he had been wanting to ask her something for a long time. Before he could even get the question out, Noemi was hugging him. George asked Noemi to marry him, and she said yes! They went straight to Noemi’s parents’ house to celebrate, pop champagne, and FaceTime family to share the spectacular news.

Noemi and George are overjoyed by the love they have from their friends and family. They look forward to sharing such a beautiful milestone with everyone as they celebrate their love for each other this upcoming Summer.
