What is a Sangeet?
The word sangeet is Sanskrit for "sung together". A Sangeet ceremony is an important part of Indian weddings – it is a pre-wedding reception where friends and family ceremonially welcome the couple into their lives and wish them the best for their future. This celebration includes dances, songs, and anything else performed by relatives and friends of the Bride and Groom. We will also have a henna station for people to get their henna done to kickstart the weekend!
Where can I get Indian wedding Attire?
Friday night we invite all guests to wear Indian clothing to celebrate the Sangeet. Lashkaraa.com and PerniasPopUpShop.com are great places online to shop. Also, Amazon is a great place to look for Indian outfits; you can search "Men's Kurta Indian Wedding" or "Women's Indian Party Wear". Please do not hesitate to reach out to Noemi or Mirna to ask any questions or to take along to a shopping trip!
