The Bali Visa Process

Health Pass (SSHP) for Entry to Republic of Indonesia

The SATUSEHAT Health Pass (SSHP) Form is the first step to entering Bali’s customs area. Upon completion, you’ll receive a QR code, which you will need to show to security before proceeding to the E-gates. As the airport’s Wi-Fi can be unreliable and only works in certain areas, we strongly recommend completing this form prior to your flight and saving a copy of the QR code on your phone. This will ensure a smoother experience and avoid delays upon arrival.

Bali E -Visa on Arrival

As the second step of the entry process, applying for an E-Visa can save you significant time at Bali’s airport. Instead of waiting in line to speak to a customs officer and have your passport stamped, you can simply scan your E-Visa’s QR code at the E-gates for quicker entry. Passports from New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom, the Republic of South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States of America are eligible for a visa-on-arrival which is valid for 30 days from Arrival. Due to the high volume of travelers, this often results in long wait times at customs. To avoid delays, we recommend applying for the E-Visa online through the provided website. The process is simple, requiring just your passport details and a clear portrait photo, which can even be a selfie.

Visa cost 500,000 IDR ($54 NZD)

Customs Declaration Form

We recommend completing the customs declaration form online before your arrival in Bali, using the provided website. This process generates a QR code that customs officials will scan after you've collected your bags, prior to exiting the airport. By completing the form in advance, you’ll save time and avoid the need to fill it out at the airport, allowing you to walk straight through customs for a smoother arrival experience.

Tourist Levy

The final step of the process is paying the tourist levy, which is approximately $16 NZD.
