This is all about love! One of our favorite stories that we will DEFINITELY be sharing with our future children and love ones is the story of Norkis asking me to be his girlfriend. We were in our “talking” phase as young folk like to say. We were reconnecting and building our friendship like the old days. Norkis had gone to Italy to play soccer. FaceTiming and phone calls was what we relied on durning this time. Since the time changes were so drastically different we both had to make sacrifices and either lose sleep or get up super early to be able to talk. On a beautiful fall sunny day Norkis had stop completely messaging and calling. Due to my anxious mind I thought maybe he’s losing interest or didn’t want to reconnect anymore. Because I was feeling sad I decided to go on a run and then after take a drive. While on my drive I got an incoming call from Norkis on the other side of the phone he said “Hey Kelsy do you think you could do me a favor?”. With my Latina attitude and my eye roll I replied “what’s the favor?” . He wanted me to pick up grocery for his mother and family at the Walmart pickup parking. So I agreed and went on to do what he told me. Inside I was dying because I had never met his family, my hands were becoming sweaty. Finally I got to a parking spot and texted him ,with my Latina attitude must I add, “im in space 3.” Send. I’m waiting and waiting. Nothing. Finally someone knocks on the window I look up and see a man that looks exactly like Norkis. I think to myself am I crazy? Is that him? I finally get out the car and it was Norkis! The reason he wasn’t texting and calling me was because he had this whole surprise set up and didn’t want me to find out! Boy was I surprised! That night he gave me a sweet gift he had brought from Italy and asked me to be his girlfriend! Of course I said yes! I was blown away!! We had our first official date at Swaney’s Swift on the square!
