Q + A

When should I arrive to Ouray?

We wanted to make this event fun for you, your significant other, and your family. It is highly encouraged for you to come on Wednesday, October 2nd to adjust to the altitude and explore the mountains. Although, we understand this may not be feasible for everyone. With that being said, arriving by Thursday, October 3rd would be fine. With how often flights get delayed and other uncertainties of traveling, it is best, if possible, to give yourself ample time and not to arrive by Friday, October 4th. We put so much effort into planning this reception and want you all to be there to enjoy all the fun.

What should I expect while staying in Ouray?

Ouray is a small, quaint town filled with awesome activities, friendly people, and lots of dogs. It does lack some of the amenities that bigger cities offer. For example, they have a local grocery store located on Main Street. They do not have big-name stores such as Meijer, Costco, or Walmart. Breakfast and coffee can be enjoyed in small cafés, not Starbucks. We highly recommend staying where breakfast is offered.

Is there a dress code for the reception?

Yes! We do want our guests to feel comfortable in what they wear but, our dress code is FORMAL. Since the reception will be held in the evening, darker, more formal colors are recommended. Women can wear below-the-knee dresses, slip dresses, a dressy skirt, and top, or an elegant pantsuit. As for men, opt for a dress shirt and slacks, with the option to wear a tie. Lastly, we request all our guests to avoid colors such as white, ivory, and cream which are traditionally reserved for the bride.

Should we bring a gift to the reception?

No! We truly want your presence as our gift. We’ve been planning this event and want you all to enjoy it.
