Olivia & Luke

Sorrento, Italy

We would love for you to join us in Italy for our wedding!

To keep the trip manageable, here are some travel suggestions:

(and for even more details, check out Rick Steves)

Flights

For flights from the U.S., your best option is likely to fly into Fiumicino airport (FCO) on the outskirts of Rome. A single roundtrip standard economy seat typically costs ~$500 from NYC airports. Keep an eye out for deals as low as $400, but they are rare! Flying into Naples airport (NAP) is also an option, but is likely more expensive and may require a connection.

Open these links in a new page to check flights:

skyscanner, google, expedia, ITA, delta, kayak, orbitz, cheapflights

*according to google, the best time to book flights for our wedding will be the last week in May (~129 days out)

Getting around

You can rent a car if you prefer, but Italy has a great rail system...use it!

Fiumicino airport to Rome:

If you are landing in Fiumicino, you first need to get a ride into Rome itself. The Leonardo Express is a 30min ride, ~€18 one-way, and can be booked ahead of time here. There's also a bus option on the website, and Uber is available in Rome, but not in Sorrento.

Highspeed rail from Rome to Naples

Book ahead of time!

Rome to Naples on Trenitalia - if booked at least a month in advance will be €15-20 per person one-way (~1hr 15min ride...at almost 200miles/hour!).

Naples to Sorrento (wedding venue)

Train: The Circumvesuviana travels from Naples to Sorrento (~1hr), tickets can be purchased at kiosks in Naples station for ~€5.

Ferry: You can take a ferry from the Naples docks to Sorrento (45min) for ~€13. You will likely need to get a taxi/uber from the train station to the docks in Naples.

Car: Hiring a car service is an option for ~€100-150

Getting around the Amalfi Coast (Sorrento, Positano, Capri)

Ferry: A 30min or less boat ride will get you from Sorrento to Positano or Capri, ~€16-20 (Book at least a month in advance!)

Local bus: ride the SITA bus on a windy, cliff-edge road to travel between Sorrento and Positano - not for the faint of heart! Tickets can be purchased in local markets, ~€5.

There's no uber in Sorrento, but there are taxis.
