The men serving as Matt's groomsmen are also his beloved family. Scott and Adam Whitten are Matt's older and younger brothers. They've been there for Matt through all the seasons of life. Tyler and Hudson Whitten are his sons, of whom Matt could not be more proud. Tyler is a Senior at Denton High School, a young man with the kindest soul and and a fun spirit. Hudson is a freshman at Denton Ryan, and in addition to being a gifted musician he is a sharp and thoughtful guy.
Bridesmaids (from Olivia):
The bridesmaids that are with me include Emily Hoppers, Jana Killifer, Leah Cipolla and Leila Whitten.
Emily Hoppers, the matron of honor, is my sister. I have always looked up to Emily since I was little and Emily was the cool high school basketball star, and I still look up to her as a mom and friend. We always enjoy each other, whether it's going on a run, playing mahjong, or getting to hang out with her and her family.
Jana Killifer is a dear friend I met while on Mercy Ships in West Africa in 2009. We were put together as co-workers while on the ship, and quickly developed a friendship full of adventure, fun, and depth that has lasted despite living in different states. We have served together, traveled the world together, and more recently have gotten to support each other as new chapters in our lives have opened.
Leah Cipolla is another dear friend who I met in Dallas through mutual friends in 2014. We ended up becoming roommates and quickly developed a deep friendship that I have been so grateful for. We lived together, traveled together, and now I get to hang out with her and her family since I am back in Texas and she lives in Georgetown.
Leila Whitten is Matt's daughter. Since the day that I met her, she has been kind and welcoming to me as a new person in their lives. She is kind, funny, thoughtful, and will even play sports with me! I can't wait to be a part of her life as she grows up.
