Located in Downtown Louisville, the bourbon district is a walkable urban experience for anyone looking for a taste of Kentucky. Click on the link below to find out various distilleries downtown with bourbon tours, tastings, and different experiences!
95% of the world's bourbon is produced in Kentucky. Many of the bourbon distilleries offer tours and tastings. Find out more and get a passport at the Frazier History Museum, the official starting place for The Kentucky Bourbon Trail. There are some distilleries downtown but there are some bigger ones outside the city limits. Some of our favorites - Woodford Reserve, Maker's Mark, and James B. Beam (makes Jim Beam, Knob Creek, Basil Hayden, etc.)
A collection of bars and restaurants that compliment bourbon tours and tastings. All stops offer bourbon flights, special bourbon cocktails, and have at least 60 different varieties of bourbon and trained staff that explain the nuances of bourbon. Check-in at six participating locations to earn yourself an official Urban Bourbon Trailblazer t-shirt which can be redeemed at the Louisville Visitors Center at 301 S. 4th St. in downtown Louisville.
Churchill Downs is home to the Kentucky Derby and they are expected to run their spring meet during the wedding weekend, so check back for more specific times when they roll out their schedule. Make sure to check the dress code before you go, they will not let you into some places without the proper attire.
Kentucky Derby Museum is located next to Churchill Downs® Racetrack in one of Louisville's historic neighborhoods just 10 minutes from downtown Louisville. Free parking is available on-premise year-round. They offer general admission and specialty tours of Churchill Downs.
