HER STORY
Tommy and I were originally supposed to be set up by our mutual friend (and bridesmaid!!), Maddie Rogers. I kept pushing off the meeting, due to the overwhelming knowledge that Maddie had imparted to me one night on her couch while discussing Tommy: "Liv, he's totally the one for you! He's husband material and just so dang sweet. Like, you will absolutely fall in love with him, he's so great." Needless to say, I wasn't quite ready for such a monumental meeting, and so I kept pushing off the proposed double date.
Fast-forward to February of 2022, and the tragic passing of one of my work colleagues, long-time teacher at Kirkland Middle School, Anne Herendeen. The school was hosting a memorial for her, and I decided to attend. As I pulled into the parking lot, I received a text from Maddie. "FYI - Tommy is here too!!!" Immediately I started to panic, as I had NOT had adequate time to overanalyze the situation. I stepped out of my car, found Maddie in the crowd, and from her side steps Tommy. He reached out his hand, smiling, and said, "Hi, I'm Tommy, it's so nice to finally meet you!" I looked into his eyes as I shook his hand, and I just knew Maddie was right - this guy would be easy to fall in love with.
HIS STORY
Well our story started on a somber note. The passing of my mom's long time friend and mother of one of my childhood best friends, Annie. She worked at the Jr. High amongst many other amazing things in her life, one of which was her ability to bring people together. A trait that I'll be grateful for for the rest of my life. Annie worked at the same school as Liv, and after waiting a while to meet, we finally met at Annie's memorial and the rest is history.
We never went more than a day without seeing one another, which progressed into her staying with my family for a couple months until we were able to move into together. I've loved every moment we've shared together. We've traveled all over the US, explored the world (eight countries and counting), tried new things, embraced family, and taken adversity head on; all of which, before an "I do" has been said. Needless to say, I can't wait to live life with Liv and for the rest, I'll see you all at the alter for my vows.
