Yes! The resort is a family-friendly resort! If you are traveling with an infant or toddler, there is a rental website for items like strollers, cribs, floaties. They will bring these items to the resort for you!
The website is https://babygearforrent.com/baby-products-for-rent.html
Am I required to have a passport to travel to Mexico?
Yes! A blue book passport is required for travel to and from Mexico! Your passport must have your legal name and cannot be expired. Double check the expiration date of your passport a several months in advance so you can get an updated one in time, if needed!
What should I bring with me?
Packing list of non-clothing items we ALWAYS bring with us:
1. Lots of sunscreen / chapstick / aloe vera packets. Bring more sunscreen than you think you will need. It is very expensive to purchase at the resort or at the airport.
2. Our own yeti cups with straws
3. Medications like ibuprofen, pepto bismol, anti-diarrheal. Traveling can be hard on the body!
4. A hat or something to cover your face. The sun is STRONG down there.
5. Beach bag or something to put your items in while at the pool/beach
6. Your own floatie (totally optional, but it is fun to have!)
7. Electrolyte packets.
8. Small bills for tipping (10's, 5's and 1's)
9. Passport / ID.
How much money should I tip during my stay?
A good rule of thumb for wait staff $5 at breakfast and lunch, $10 for dinner. Bartenders, maids, transportation drivers and others are based upon their jobs. Generally, we tip around $7-10 for our transportation drivers, $15-20 for our entire stay to our maid. Bartenders will take good care of you if you tip them up front. We usually hand them $10-15 right as soon as we get into the pool or to the bar. Additional services such as massage therapists, tour guides, etc. are up to your jurisdiction, but usually around around $15-20.
Pro tip: Bring small bills with you. They do not have places to break change at the resort! Generally Derek and I each bring $100 in 10's, 5's and 1's and that has been plenty for a four night, 5 day stay!
Can I leave the resort?
Yes! The resort is within walking distance of Downtown Cancun, close to shops and restaurants. Additionally, if you want to do any excursions you can book through the resort when you get there OR Jess & Jayme can assist you!
