Things to Do

Shaggy's (Restaurant)

1724 E Beach Boulevard, Gulfport, MS
228-241-1007

Perfect touristy/beachy restaurant. Every time I go here, I feel like I’m on vacation! It’s also one of my parents' favorites.

Website

Half Shell Oyster House (Restaurant)

2500 13th Street, Gulfport, MS
Half Shell is always delicious. If you’re looking for some authentic southern seafood, this is your place! Highly recommend.

The Rack House (Restaurant)

1301 26th Avenue, Gulfport, MS
228-206-2744

The upstairs lounge area of The Rack House is one of my favorite spots to have a cocktail or two. They’ve got great weekly lunch specials and their brunch is also worth trying!

The Fashion Factory (Shopping)

1311 25th Avenue, Gulfport, MS
228-284-4150

I never come out of this shop without buying something! My friend and fellow fireman spouse, Jackie, is the owner and the absolute sweetest!! She’s got such a great selection of clothing, jewelry and even locally made items!

Gulfport Beach

Directly across from Centennial Plaza
Although our water may not be the clear blue that you’re used to, there’s still nothing like having a beach within walking distance! Lay out, go for a walk or just sit and take in the view while you’re here!

Jones Park

Jones Park Drive, Gulfport, MS
Jones Park has a great walking trail, playground and splash pad. The Gulfport light house is also located there and a pier where many boats are docked.

Mississippi Aquarium

2100 E Beach Boulevard, Gulfport, MS
228-241-1300

I haven’t been yet, but it looks nice and I’ve heard good things! Only complaints being that it is a small location. The dolphin show seems to be what everyone loves most.

Boozers Brew & Cafe Too (Coffee & Cafe)

1921 15th Street, Gulfport, MS
228-234-5282
Boozers is my favorite little coffee shop and they also have great breakfast and lunch options! You can sit inside the adorable cafe or outside and look out at the beach. I definitely recommend checking this place out!

Pop Brothers (Popsicle Shop)

1501 25th Avenue, Gulfport, MS
228-206-0656

Pop Brothers is a local staple! They sell homemade popsicles and have so many options to choose from! Definitely check it out, especially if your kiddos are here with you!

Tony's Brick Oven Pizzeria (Restaurant)

2417 14th Street, Gulfport, MS
228-868-9877

Tony’s is a casual dining restaurant. I love their lasagna and pizza Bianca… so good!!

Salute (Restaurant)

1712 15th Street, Gulfport, MS
228-864-2500
I’ve always loved Salute. It’s an Italian restaurant with typically an older crowd. Great weekly lunch specials and happy hour! If you love dessert, I highly recommend their brownie and ice cream!!

Sea Grapes (Wine Bar)

2419 14th Street, Gulfport, MS
228-867-2010
A chill little wine bar attached to Tony’s Brick Oven Pizzeria. They have their own small plate menu, but you can also order off Tony’s menu if you prefer. On the weekends, they typically have live music.

Patio 44 (Restaurant)

1244 24th Avenue, Gulfport, MS
228-265-7101
At Patio 44, I recommend sitting at the bar (if possible). I’ve found that the service is always better at the bar here. Great drinks too!

Gulfport Premium Outlets (Shopping)

10000 Factory Shop Boulevard, Gulfport, MS

The outlets are an outdoor shopping mall not too far north of Centennial Plaza.

Flamingo Landing (Restaurant)

8813 Lorraine Rd, Gulfport, MS 39503, USA
(228) 241-1450

A new restaurant located on the back bay with a pretty view of the water and lots of activities for kids! If you visit Flamingo Landing with kids, I suggest that you request a table downstairs so that your kids can run around and enjoy the games and sandpit. Upstairs is more adult friendly with a large bar and gorgeous view, if you're lucky enough to find a spot by the window! Flamingo Landing also offers a bottomless mimosa brunch on Saturdays and Sundays!

Felix's Restaurant & Oyster Bar (Restaurant)

942 Beach Drive, Gulfport, MS 39507
(228) 284-3710

A New Orleans based restaurant with great oysters and a gorgeous view! They offer live music most Friday and Saturday nights.

Mangiamo (Restaurant)

1423 Magnolia Street, Suite A
(228) 265-7346

The spot where Devon proposed to me! It is an italian restaurant owned by one of our friends in Neptune (Devon's Mardi Gras group). It is more of an adults-only restaurant and I suggest sitting at the bar for the best experience. Mangiamo's offers Sunday brunch too!

Chandeleur Island Brewing Company (Bar/Restaurant)

2711 14th St, Gulfport, MS 39501, USA
(228) 701-9985

Awesome spot for craft beers, located right in downtown Gulfport. In addition to their craft beers, Chandeleur has a pretty tasty menu, has a full bar and serves wine by the bottle. Worth checking out!

TrainTastic formerly the Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum

615 Pass Rd, Gulfport, MS 39507, USA
(228) 284-5731

Obviously, a great spot to take kids, but from what I’ve heard, adults love it too!! I read that it has the largest collection of model railroads in the world!

The Chimneys Restaurant

1640 E Beach Blvd, Gulfport, MS 39501, USA
(228) 863-7604

A Gulfport staple. A little more upscale and not very kid friendly. Cool story behind it’s history and authentic southern/creole dishes.

Murky Waters Gulfport (Restaurant)

1320 27th Ave, Gulfport, MS 39501, USA
(228) 214-4420

Delicious BBQ spot downtown along Fishbone Alley. I’ve never had a bad meal here, but expect to smell like BBQ when you leave.
