Pame and Matt’s love story is one that can only be described as fate. Growing up an ocean apart in El Salvador and Scotland, they arrived in January 2018 to the University of South Florida where they would both embark on a new journey away from their homes, families and friends.

When Matt saw Pame for the first time, it truly was love at first site. A feeling and emotion that one imagines only happens in stories and hollywood movies. A feeling that is indescribable and yet Matt knew exactly what it meant.

Matt summoned the courage to speak to Pame on that first day, making small talk on the way to get their first Student ID’s. Over the next few days of orientation a small friend group formed including Matt’s best man Jake.

For the first weeks through January and into February, Pame and Matt spent time together while settling into university life, attending concerts, baskeball games and glow in the dark parties. While watching a movie one night, Pame laid her head on Matt’s shoulder and in that moment he knew it was time. The timing was perfect and the next day Matt asked Pame to be his Valentine and Pame accepted. She knew that even though it had only been a few weeks since meeting Matt, this relationship was something special.

Matt took Pame to a classic dinner and movie and they both knew that night they both had found the love of their lives.

Their love has grown stronger year on year as they have travelled the world together, explored each other’s countries and cultures, met friends and family, graduated from bachelors and masters degrees and dealt with long distance. They have loved their journey together so far and now they can’t wait to spend the rest of their life together.

Pame and Matt cherish the memory of how they first met in orientation over 6 years ago, and enjoy telling the story to anyone who asks.
