Pam and Eric grew up one street away in Nedrow, NY. They didn’t play together much as kids since Eric was a few years older, and a boy. (In the 80’s it wasn’t “cool” to play with a kid that much younger than you unless you parents forced you too.) Until one day, Eric threw Burdocks in Pam’s hair when she was 8 years old and rubbed it in. Her mom was furious and told her to “stay away from him.”
30 years later….
They saw each other again while their kids played baseball at the local park. No conversation was had, but Eric never stopped staring! 😍
In July of 2013 at a Popular party, Eric walked up behind Pam as she was dancing and decided to join her. They danced and said good night. By the end of the night, Pam was again told to stay away from Eric. (Siblings rivalry? Or fair warning?)
But….
By 3:00am Pam was getting messages on Facebook. They had several conversations and dates, and officially started dating on 7/31/13. One evening in late August, while leaving for the night, Eric let the words slip out…“I love you!”
Two years later, Pam and Eric welcomed a baby girl! The final addition to add to the 3 boys they had when they combined their house holds. After several years of birthdays, anniversaries, graduation's, deaths of special loved ones, a Pandemic, marriages and births of their grandchildren; he did it!!!
FINALLY, after 12 years on Christmas Day 2024, he asked Pam to marry him. Her response all 3 times he asked was “Are you serious?” After a good cry, some hugs and kisses Pam finally said ”YES!”
And so…A new chapter begins! 💍
