General information

Our wedding will take place in the Lot-et-Garonne region of France which is about half way between Bordeaux and Toulouse. The closest airport is Bergerac Dordogne Périgord Airport (about 35 mins drive from the venue). We would strongly recommend hiring a car to get around as the area is rural with limited to no public transport.

More details below!

Which airport should I fly into?

- Bordeaux is a 1.5-2hr drive from the venue. Bordeaux is usually cheapest to fly to. Stansted and Gatwick airports are the cheapest and easiest airports to access from London. You can fly into Bordeaux from Paris or a few other French airports. Bordeaux is also very well connected to a number of other European countries. All the major car rental companies are set up at the airport. if you have the time and energy, it is usually a little cheaper to rent from downtown rather than the airport.

- Toulouse 1.5-2hr drive from the venue. Second cheapest option. Lovely city with great infrastructure from the airport to get into the central city area. Toulouse has over 80 destinations to fly to/from in Europe and beyond (including within France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Turkey, Morocco and the UAE). All the major car rental companies are set up at the airport. https://www.toulouse.aeroport.fr/en/flights-and-destinations

- Bergerac 35-40min drive. The UK accounts for most direct flights that land at this airport so don’t bother trying to fly here unless you’re in the UK. The cheapest airport to fly from in the UK is Stansted. Note - this is a very small airport with one runway. There are plenty of car rental options from here but they may be more expensive than renting from a big city.

Any other ways to get there?

- If you’re travelling across France by land you can catch a 2.5hr train from Paris to Bordeaux and rent a car from there

- If you’re travel from Spain you can catch a 3-3.5hr train from San Sebastián.

- If you’re coming from Montpellier in the south of France, you can catch a 3hr train which passes through the beautiful town of Narbonne or it’s a 2.5hr drive.

- We highly recommend renting a car from an airport or major city as there are limited options in the surrounding areas of the venue.
