In May of 2021 Dan and I matched on a dating app. After a few days of messaging back and forth, we decided to finally meet in person. Although it was a cold and rainy day, we decided to go to Bear Chase Brewery on May 16, 2021. For about 3 hours we sat in the Bear Den talking and getting to know each other. It didn’t take long to realize how much we really had in common, especially after agreeing on our strong dislike of hiking and skiing. After the amazing date, we continued to text continuously over the next few days. By Tuesday that week, Dan asked if we could hang out again before the weekend. Which I was absolutely ecstatic about! On Wednesday, Dan came to Winchester and we then met at another brewery down town (one of my favorite things to do). After another great date, we decided to hang out again on that Friday. I was so shocked that a guy who lived an hour away was so willing to come down to see me after working all day! Friday finally came around, and we went to West Oaks farm market. Because it had already felt like we knew each other for years, I figured why not invite some friends out to meet him!? Everything went just as planned, which just increased my interest in Dan.
Over the next few weeks we continued to talk and hang out on a regular basis. We never ran out of things to talk about and he never failed to make me laugh. It wasn’t until July that he would finally admit to us being “boyfriend and girlfriend” but he was well worth the wait.
Fast forward to February of 2022 and he was making the move down to Winchester. We lived in my town house for a few months until we decided in June that we needed more space. We decided to start looking for a house to buy together. By August we found the most perfect house for us. Throughout the next two months we renovated the kitchen, bathrooms, and some bedrooms. We finally decided it was time to move in officially on October 1, 2022.
Over the next few months we had talked more and more about the idea of getting married, and had even gone to look at engagement rings! Never in my wildest dreams did I anticipate him surprising me the way that he did! On June 3, 2023, the day after school had gotten out for summer, I found Dan on one knee in our spare bedroom of our house, that we hope to one day use as a kids bedroom. I was in complete shock. The surprise continued when he took me back to the place where it all started, Bear Chase, with so many of our favorite people!
We continue to have so much fun together, building the home we love, and living each day to the fullest. We are so excited to finally be able to call each other Husband and Wife! Here’s to the rest of our love story together!
