It's 2018, and online dating is definitely a thing. We both had our fair share of downloads, swipes, matches and deleted profiles. One more downloaded app and "late night swipe session" couldn't hurt, right?
As a man, you attempt to be as clever as possible with one-liners and funny synopses of your life. As a female, you just hope to avoid 'unwanted pictures' and rude men in the process of finding a normal one to carry on a conversation.
"Don't judge me if I drizzle ketchup on my fries". That was it. That was the genius retort to a seemingly harmless profile question that earned the attention of one special lady. She had a good laugh at my expense and decided to reach out for a conversation. A few pleasantries were exchanged, and then....crickets.
She ghosted me. No response to my previous attempts to get to know her unofficially. Two weeks went by and I thought, "welp, time to delete yet another attempt at finding someone through the internet". Then, three dots and a response.
"Jordan! So sorry I didn't respond to your last message! Been super busy with work. Can we meet for a drink?" Anyone that knows Trish knows that this is 100% what happened. It was September 22nd, and my family had just wrapped up dinner for my Dad's birthday while watching my Kentucky Wildcats beat a 14th ranked Mississippi State football team (at the time).
I headed up North to meet with her at Sun King in Carmel, IN. 9pm was the agreed upon time. I showed up at 10:15pm. Anyone that knows me will understand that this is not surprising. She walked in and I whispered repeatedly under my breath "please be for me". The rest, as they say, is history.
A little over three years and a global pandemic later, and we are finally ready to solidify our relationship for the foreseeable...ever! We have had a lot of adventures over the time we have been together and would love to have you join us for this next one!
